What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

Most big game animals are killed at 300 yds or less. The partition is designed to shed some of it's front core, while the rear core retains weight and penetrates exceptionally well, often exiting. Other bullet makers have been trying to copy the performance since the 1960's for good reason...

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

A good case can be made that it is the pinnacle of hunting bullet performance.

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

Hard to argue with your uncle regarding the partition. It's been kicking asss for over 60 years.

    22 Creedmoor for Scimitar Oryx?

Yeah, well, that's the point. African antelope aren't any tougher than any other NA game animal I've killed when the right bullet is put in the right place, in spite of the tales of how tough African game can be.

Congrats on the hunt. I've hunted mule deer every year since 1971, and guided about 150 other mule deer hunters up until about 5 years ago. The vast majority of hunters showed up over-gunned, over-scoped, and under-practiced. My son has killed some really nice, big, mature mule deer bucks...

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

My opinions, when proven they work, do not constitute fallacy any more than your methods that work. Just because you don't believe it doesn't make it wrong, or "fallacious" in your own words. Your ego won't let you admit it.

Random people on the internet I'll never meet never, ever get me upset I'll assure you. You're in every discussion as well, BTW.

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

Nope, not bad faith at all, but I'm not a "yes man" either. If you tested them so thoroughly why didn't you come out with the "performance" problem of the Amax prior to Hornady's announcement? I find your take on "fallacies" laughable quite frankly. Just because I don't necessarily agree...

Couldn't care less about any validation here or anywhere else. It is interesting how some get so upset so easily though at a differing opinion.

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

No, I'm not trolling. It just seems that some have anxiety issues when a guy disagrees with "popular" opinion. I'll take your word for it on the Amax, but it's still very odd to me that people will still clamor for 162 Amax bullets for example, because they work so well. It's hard to imagine...

    22 Creedmoor for Scimitar Oryx?

I heard how tough African game was for years before I actually went. Over 5 different trips and 60+ plains game killed, I found out that good bullets put in the proper place killed them as efficiently as any other big game animal. Problem was, bullets that aren't put where they need to be...

    22 Creedmoor for Scimitar Oryx?

No, I don't know why there are cartridge minimums, no I didn't ever ask, and no I don't care. Since it's bothering you so much I suggest If you're really wanting to know then once again I'd suggest you ask them. I'm not responsible for the rules/laws of outfitters in another country. I love...

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

The only reason Steve backed down on the jab mandate was because of the push back he received from many of his workers, and the general shooting public's comments. It was a bush league move. So why did the Amax bullets shoot and perform so well if the bullet tips were all jacked up?

As long as you stay off of bone you're probably ok. Through shoulders, not too sure about that. I've posted bullet weight retention photos from a few of my 160 AB's previously of recovered bullets that were shot through shoulder/heart shots.

Send a series of emails to various veteran African operators and ask them. I'm sure they'd love to argue with a guy who has zero experience over there.

Me either...........You quoted me and commented specifically to my Africa post. If you'd read before you started posting non related nonsense you would see that instantly. So the answer to my question I asked you is "zero, none, nada". I already knew that.

Gotcha. Do you guys ever offer scimitar hunts? Maybe some meat hunts? We killed lots of aoudad around Fluvanna as well several years ago.

How many animals have you killed over there with that specific bullet? Not your friends, someone you talked to....you, specifically?
