Swarovski 85 vs 95 with BTX in low light

The 65 is about $1k. By the time you get an ATX, 95, and BTX you're in the scope for $7.5k before you've looked at a tripod. Tacking $1k onto a system you'll have forever is probably more common than you'd think.

    New 56mm Swaro spotter

FOV isn't linear, but the FOV goes through 63 feet over 30 powers, so it's around 2 ft per mag on average, which would be under ~79 ft. (because non-linear) 75-77 ft is a good guess. I agree that spotters are typically for looking "at" things rather than looking "for" things but the advantage...

    New 56mm Swaro spotter

I haven't looked through either of them, but the thing that stands out to me is this: FOV @ Min Mag Kowa (15x): 132 ft Swaro (17x): 186 ft FOX @ Max Mag Kowa (45x): 69 ft Swaro (40x): 102 ft Eye Relief Kowa: 14.5-12 dependent on power Swaro: 20mm I'd be interested in a glass comparison for...

Binos w/built in rangefinder. Pros and Cons

Pros, effortless one-press ranging available in your observation device. Cons, a top of the line binocular from 2002 is still a much better than average binocular today. A Rangefinder from 2002 is either hopelessly outdated or a paperweight. If you're guiding people or cycle your gear often...

How to balance a Swarovski ATX with 115mm lens

They can't move it forward, there's no where for it to go. If they make the foot longer/taller, it will exert more force on the foot, causing it to wobble more when things like wind hit the giant surface area of the side of the unit. Using the unmodified rail on an ATX 115 with a PTH head, you...

How to balance a Swarovski ATX with 115mm lens

If the mount was taller the scope would exert more leverage on the foot and it would induce more shake and probably be more likely to break. I don't think that Swaro is going to issue a recall to make the scope worse.

How to balance a Swarovski ATX with 115mm lens

LOL. Get a rail. 115 balances perfectly with a BTX.

    NL Pure eyecups vs EL?

The NLs resolve better and are much more comfortable in the hand. There are more positions on an NL eyecup, but they both ultimately twist in/out and are the same size (you can thread an NL Eyecup into an EL)
