Swaro ats 80

I have a Swaro ats 80, it was my grandpas so I have not used it much, I had it out tonight and I was watching some whitetail roughly 3/4 of a mile away, it did not seem super clear like I see some YouTube footage with phone scopes looking through similar spotting scopes. Which got me thinking, I believe this is a non HD version, is the non HD that inferior or am i expecting too much out of a 80 mm spotting scope. I had it dialed all the way in to 60 on the eye piece and though i should be able to easily see a bucks tines to count and that was not the case.

remove the eyepiece from the spotter tube, if it says ATS 80 instead of ATS 80 HD, you've got your answer about what it is. Colors definitely pop more with an HD optic.
