I put the RRS clamp on my Atlas CAL, and it was definitely worth it.
I use it on rifles with full length ARCA and it also attaches to pic rails. You could use that on both your chassis, and you wouldn't have to have a pic rail protruding out on your new one.
$60 TYD
Use was extremely minor, it's like new.
I just assume use my spotter or put my lightweight bag on my tripod if I'm using a tripod at all with binos. Hate to see it sit on the shelf, this needs a good home.
WTT for a black one, honestly would take the non quick release version as well. It seems they quit making that, or I'd sell this and buy that one.
Very nice quality, used once I think.
No way, definitely plugs. It's heavy too, but effective. It would be a top choice for your purpose though. I really like the self timing mount on the 419 as well.
Yes, but felt or moleskin would be too thick.
One thin layer of lens cloth is what I've used before, but I noticed yesterday that the magnet still didn't seem strong enough to hold it. It worked okay, but I was afraid to let go of the phone. Not sure if the magnet for a little weaker the last...
My NXS 2.5-10 fits on my M70 375 with Talley LWs(extended), not much wiggle room, but fits. Surely it would fit the standard LA.
I'm in Weatherford, if you want to check yours. I also have a SHV 4-14.
I have an Alpine Hunter from 2019ish. I'm going to check mine out of curiosity.
I'm no expert, but if that area wasn't needed, why would it be subjected to enough stress to crack? Without that area, could there be some flexure when torquing the action screws, then it's all solid once tight...
I really like my Nightforce NXS 2.5-10. I think it's probably the best Nightforce "hunting" scope that is lightweight. Seems to fit what you're looking for with that set up, if you are okay with 10 power max and SFP.
I like my multicam originals, but they aren't good if they get wet,
thinking of picking up the insulated camo ones, sub35 or sub 20 - look like they'd be pretty good, insulated and waterproof. Anyone have experience with either of these?
Even more reason to just use minutes or mils, IMO.
Also, trying to keep two different loads straight will drive you batty. It's fine to have different loads for different hunts, but I would re-zero and I'm a fan of a 100 yard zero.
I'm in Fort Worth. I take it you're in Wyoming?
I do get up there as much as I can, I'll be up for spring bear and I'll also try to hit some NRL hunter matches this year as well. I have a good buddy in Cheyenne.
