    Two Blade

I'm shooting Anarchy Broadheads this Season. Unfortunately, I did not get to fling one at an elk this Season, but I did blow through a small blacktail buck this Season, arrow went another 20 yds past the point of impact on a chest hit. Good blood trail as well. I'm shooting an Elite Pure at...

    Backcountry Elk Progression

I'm doing the same thing David. I'm ready to do 3 4-day spike outs, hopefully we'll be packed up with two bulls and heading out after the second one. In the past, we always base camped, and humped in and out every day. I'm looking forward to having elk bugle around my tent this Season. Did a...

    The rib role!!

Basically I do the same thing gutless but leave a thin amount of meat in between the ribs. You will most likely puncture the paunch on the rear ribs if you attempt this using the gutless method. The video was a "gutted gutless" kill.

    National Forest Question

In Oregon, I believe you have to have a "parking permit" you can get from the Fish and Wildlife dept...not sure how many days those are good for.

    chances at cows

I have shot them, and I've passed on them. And I've passed on them, wishing I would have shot them! Great shot opportunities on elk may only happen once or twice in a Season (depending on where you are hunting). You just have to do what feels right. Last time I passed one up, we walked...

No Elk _Plan for Following Morning?

Depending on time of Year, hunting pressure, etc...the elk can be there and just be silent. Early morning glassing, followed by slow morning stalks through North facing timbered ridges is one way to find them, and you may find active wallows as well. Usually I've had the best luck about 2/3 of...

    Lets talk decoys!

jolemons, Most cow decoys are profile decoys with head up. Any time an animal has his head up, it tends to put other animals on guard. Also, it looks unnatural moving in. The SLIP System Moo Cow is quartering in, head down. Very natural for cattle to move in with their head down...

    Lets talk decoys!

4IDARCHER, The pronghorn buck decoys work best after Mid September. As Nick stated, you have to find the right buck to get them to charge the decoy. Some herd bucks will just run their does off rather than charge it. Moo cow decoy will work much better if you are...

    Lets talk decoys!

Good luck jolemons. I think the moo cow is the ticket for early season speedgoats.

Elk Mountain Slip System unbox review

Nick, The only video we have is from Sage Buck Productions. They used the Moo Cow as a confidence decoy in a hide blind. Two guys killed two nice bucks from the same hide on Public land in Idaho. Should have happened in 2010. Kenny Hollingsworth was filming in Nebraska for TNT Outdoor...

Elk Mountain Slip System unbox review

Brad, There is definitely a learning curve there. I always try to send out a Quick Start Guide pdf. when someone purchases, it has a lot of little tricks that can shortcut the learning curve. Hopefully James took the time to read it :D
