Trekking poles.... How many use them?

Single pole for me...with a twist! I can change the presentation to any of 20 camo or decoy patterns in a matter of seconds.

Who has gotten the flu recently?

There are some gnarly ones out there. I'm still coughing stuff up. My Wife is an ICU nurse. A good percentage of the young people who have died from it locally got the flu shot...so getting the shot is no guarantee. It appears they may have been a little off on their "best guess" of what...

Freezer paper or vacuum seal meat?

I ate some elk steaks the other night that were wrapped by a butcher in 2009. Cling type plastic wrap around the meat, and then well wrapped in butcher paper. I was amazed at how good it looked when I unwrapped it. That being said, I usually vacuum pack if I do it myself.

How do you keep from sliding off your sleep pad?

BA Bag works for me as well. Works fine with my Thermarest NeoAir Trekker. Impossible to roll off the pad with that setup.

What's the most expensive thing you've lost while outdoors?

In 1992, I lost my bow while hunting, laid it on the tonneau cover and drove off. In 2012, I lost my bow while hunting, laid it on the tonneau cover and drove off. :(

the crazy thing about fast food.

Mike, what I wouldn't give to have your metabolism! I hate having to resign myself to the fact that everything that tastes awesome is slowly poisoning me!

What water purification/filtration are you using for mountain hunting?

I became well aware of the submersion thing early on. Like I said, I've been using it for 3 years, and I tried every trick I know to get that bulb to light. There was plenty of cow poo in that water to make the sensors work (it was a stream outlet from a big park occupied by groups of...

What water purification/filtration are you using for mountain hunting?

I ran the Steripen for the last 3 Seasons and I loved it...however, it gave up the ghost in the middle of my Backcountry hunt this Season. It just wouldn't run properly no matter what I tried. So, it was a good reminder to me that electrical or mechanical devices can fail (did I say...

A DIY AK moose hunt video 2013

SLIP System, Brad! I don't know what I would have done without mine up there in 2011 (rained 7 days straight)! And, it doubles as a decoy!

Rokslide Weight loss/Weight gain goal thread

I'm a little over 5'7", and I currently average around 170#. I do a lot of pushups and crunches throughout the course of a day, and I run treadmill on a grade for a half hour on my lunch break (I add a 30 pound pack a couple months before peak season). So I'm pretty muscular above the waist...
