Since I'm a new member, lurked forever, I never paid attention to the classifieds here. So I'll keep my eyes open for brass. I ended up buying a bunch of Nosler trophy grade ABs for my WSM. So I'll load that back up for a few loadings.

Yeah, Good luck getting WSM brass. I'd look at component availability before choosing the cartridge. I have yet to find good brass in bulk. I keep waiting on an email from ADG and everyone else is always out of stock. I haven't even seen them on UM for the past year. WM or PRC is probably your...
That is why for the last 3 months I have been trying to get out shooting every week. So it was noticeable what happened with the group size. And based on all of my groups with the other ammo, I feel like a lot of it is just people overthinking stuff and assuming too much. IDK, like I said, I'm...
So I watch some of Eric Cortina's stuff online and I am certainly not at that level and not near most of you in understanding this stuff. I would imagine though the law of diminishing returns applies in a unorthodox way where he has gotten everything else worked out and its the tiny things that...
Yeah, I'd love to not have to clean. It was a pain in the butt and it took me about 2 hours all told. Since I have settled on the Trophy grade ammo and plan on using ABs in reloads in the future, hopefully? Maybe, I can never clean again. But I'd like to see the groups stay around an inch for sure.
I didn't want to buy another piece of gear to carry extra weight on my hunts so I started using my game bags (caribou gear) that come in the bag that they are packed in and it works for most situations as a rear bag. It works pretty well and i can get pretty steady with it.
I'm going to do some research on this. I have never heard of the carbon ring until reading on here. Sounds like some barrels/guys get it and some don't.
I will note this gun was just in the smith shop getting the stock put on and cerakote. The smith said there was significant firecracking in...
Thanks for the input. I know at some point I will put a barrel on this gun. A 5 shot string is about all I can do before I figure it's getting too hot. But I also figure 1MOA is good enough for its uses out to the range I want to shoot at for right now.
New barrel is in next year's budget;)...
I read that continually here. I can understand it in a custom barrel. But when I saw the group open up overnight, with nothing else seeemingly wrong, eliminating most of the other variables. Cleaning seemed to work. Now if they hadn't gotten drastically better after cleaning, I would have looked...
I've been on ADG's list for a long time and never received an email that 300wsm brass is available. I went the route of buying quality box ammo and planning on using the fired brass for reloads. Albeit even ammo is hard to find and freaking expensive for the 300WSM.
Here was my method for cleaning.
Items used:
Tipton CF rod
Nylon Brushes (.30 and .27 explained later)
Hoppes Carbon Solvent and Hoppes gun oil for finishing
Foaming Copper Solvent(non-ammonia) I can't remember the specific brand bought from cabelas
Tipton .30 patches
I watched videos online...
Short and Quick of it is I started having groups that were 4"-4.5" at 100 yds after routinely being about 1.5"-2" for all box ammo(Winchester, Federal, and Nosler). I checked all the action screws and the rings, everything was tight. I decided to clean it even though I read continually on here...
Old rifle liked 180 Corelokt
New one likes Hornady Superformance180 SST
I'd like to find some Hornady Precision Hunter but all my shots have always been under 350yds so the aforementioned have performed great.

Hey Everyone, LOOOOOONG time lurker. I am active on a few other forums but I figured I have learned so much from Rokslide that I should start joining in on the discussion and actually add something.
