    Best cheap and reliable rifle?

+1 for the Ruger American. Mine is the Predator in 308. Has maintained an average of 0.7 MOA over 250+ 5 shot groups using 5 different powders and 3 different bullets.

    6.5 PRC

Rsearch should only bring about facts. The facts dictate a threshold of X fps to expand bullet Y reliably. The energy is the product that ensures this. Most will say different numbers. Some as low as 1000 ft lbs at the desired distance as long as fps are still high. It is a balancing act that...

“Cheap” rifles can be awesome/fun rifles too!

It took a whole 4 posts for a Tikka guy to show up. Must have taken Veterans day off...🤣 ETA: if I could get a Tikka with the same profile and repeatability as my predator I would probably buy it. I know they shoot great but as the OP stated, there is more fun in it when its cheap.

Razor LHT 42 or 50 MM Bell?

I think it mostly comes down to the reticle of choice. I prefer the reticle in the smallet scope and I am willing to forgive 6mm of objective to get it. Its only a quarter inch.

    Back country rifle build

Why not just buy the Savage 110 Ultralight in 300 WSM? It is exactly what you are asking for with a good price and you are already accustomed to their actions.

1st Rifle and sudden weather change

Out in western CO and weather has been consistent for about a week. 70s during the 50 at night. Some weather just rolled at 9500 ft. 40 degrees at 130pm and light snow/rain mix. The local warden says the rut isnt over. Makes sense from bugling a ways off. In a situation like this would tonight...

Traumatic brain injury + ear pro

I've had 2 severe and one minor TBI from blasts and still shoot often and unsuppressed. That doesnt mean that it will be ok for you, time will tell, but in time it should be fine.

Help Me Pick Out a New 308....

The 20 inch barrel on the Bergara wont hurt you a bit. I get 2650 with 180s out of an 18 inch. Hits to a grand arent that big of a deal.

Practice shots vs. hunting shots each year

Im in the neighborhood of 400/500:1 every year. I just like to shoot and see it as a skill that is perishable and practice accordingly.

Regardless of their pricing, they always sell out of their skunkworks stuff before they even finish making them.

12.5k is a hell of a price to javenthat name on the side of the receiver. The sum is far more than the parts...far more. Anyways, 900 yards is probably what their guys would shoot since they are super ethical on their hunts. I am super interested in the caliber though. Off to do more research.

I have a lightly used F5 Switchblade in military green. Taken to the range a few times but I found something I liked better for it's role. Asking $155 shipped and insured.
