my thoughts exactly...
what you did right there was try to generalize every person who doesn't hunt or didn't vote for trump as some extreme hipster trying to end hunting...
that is doing the exact some thing that is causing the issue we face with some non hunters, who generalize every hunter...
I've been sitting in pretty thick timber during early muzzleloader season when it was dry, and had a spike show up seemingly out of nowhere 15 yards away.
didn't hear a single twig snap coming in. everyone says elk are always loud when they move, not always the case.
i would also bet you are...
I'm no expert but...
if you are primarily hunting heavy timbered areas, and you think you're moving slow enough...you aren't.
find area's with game trails and sign, and sit on them a bit more.
you'd be amazed what you can hear when you arent moving and making any noise yourself. it feels like a...
Hubba Hubba NX lover here.
I've run mine through some pretty extreme conditions from Utah summer backpacking where it weathered some INTENSE evening rains with GREAT breathability to high alpine camping.
I can't say enough great things about it. I have used it with 2 people with its me and the...
the jump up to 200 many years ago was already met with quite the opposition. but washington, like many states I believe sets tag quotas and seasons for 2 or 3 year increments. anyways, this had apparently been decided a few years ago to try and help the herd, but many people were saying it was...
tags were drastically reduced in WA this year, at least cow tags in most of the units. The unit we usually muzzleloader hunt used to give out 200 ish cow tags that you on average, could draw every 2-3 years. this year it was reduced to 20 tags. the same reductions were made in many of the...
going to be making a big order on RCBS stuff and was just looking to see if anyone had any current free shipping codes?
Most of the 30 off 300 and such don't work due to the items being on sale.
thanks!
so you are unwelcoming of out of state hunters (or at least a certain % of them) in the current situation ;)
that's what started this whole debacle, that and you wanted additional fees on top of the already over 10x costs.
i get it..you want the woods to yourself. everyone does. but you gotta...
you want your cake, and to eat it too..and i don't mean that in a rude way..i'm just saying that is what i surmised.
Basically, you want less OOS hunters, paying more, to equalize the (in theory) lesser numbers..so that you can have less congestion at the trail head, but ID F&G will have the...
I don't think you fact checked yourself is the problem.
you want non residents to pay a surcharge for "your" resources.
so the over 10x we pay for something that resides on public land that we already own isn't enough? That's where I'm leading the charge of the "whiny brigade" as you call it...
there are white tail in idaho.
so according to your idaho brethren's plan.
you should pay an extra 500-1000 to go hunt a white tail in new york. i'm sure the residents wouldnt mind
I went off of the fact that of the 10,415 quota for non res...there are currently 76 available.
sorry, i didnt realize that Idaho uses 100% of it's property tax, income tax, and sales tax to fund the department of fish and wildlife, so you're right. my assessment isn't fair, but your sarcastic...
come buy an OTC tag in western washington, hunt 3 pt or better bulls. our rosoevelt elk are bigger than your rocky mt elk....so you should pay more to get a bigger elk right?
I went and hunted an any bull, otc, pan handle unit. i wasn't coming down to hunt for a trophy bull.
I was going out to...
With basic math...and ONLY accounting for licenses and tags..non resident elk hunters bring in roughly $6 million dollars. 415 dollars for an elk tag and 154 dollars for a hunting license x roughly 10K available non resident A/B tags.
that's not even taking into account the guys who buy wolf...
So I have a question for you. Under your brilliant new plan. The out of state fees sky rocket. The following year 80% less people come from the terrible states of wa, ca, and Utah to "fill their tags". You're super excited that now you have the woods to yourself. Now the Id fish and game goes...
I'm sorry but this made me laugh.
Non resident tags are already steep, so you're saying if there is an elk in your state, you should get taxed more on top of that?
You think we already aren't trying to call the poor management to our own states? It's frustrating to watch. I hunted elk in...
i'm in the exact same boat...
2006 TRD tacoma with like 150k?
I might go drive a new tacoma just to hope I don't like it and I can keep driving this one ;)
