Honestly, I’m not sure exactly where to start in response to that argument. But I am convinced that none of the evidence I could provide you with would ever change your opinion.
Opportunities aren’t shrinking because of hunters making fun of other hunter’s clothes. They are dwindling because there are more hunters vying for opportunities on less land every year. The comments you are hearing that are making light of African hunting fashion are coming from people who...
In all that reading, I guess you missed the part about WDM Bell killing 23 buffalo with a 22 High Power, and that he killed most of his elephants with a 7x57. One of his favorite rifles was… Eegads… a 6.5x54… Don’t think he wore crocs though.
When I bought mine, it was what the LGS had in stock. Then they held it for 8 months until the paperwork got approved. As I understand it, the increase in the speed of ATF approvals has made raptors a little harder to get. You have to order them now and wait on backorder. I assume you can get it...

My 3” sporter-profile reflex has a crapload of carbon in it and weighs 4.6 oz. 8-stack and 3” is 13.4 oz. I’m guessing 2500ish rounds through it without cleaning. I bought this can with the expectation of using it without the reflex during hunting to cut weight. But I almost never...
I have about 3k rounds through one of my AB cans across 3 different calibers ranging from 223 to 300 WSM and 5 different guns. All but one of those guns use adapters, and I have never had the sort of problems represented in this thread. I don’t think it’s an adapter issue and if I’m not able to...
Please share with us your approach to getting on target quickly with a high magnification rifle scope, spotting your impacts, and making follow-up shots as required.
I will agree there are some occasions where more magnification can be helpful. However, it does not change the fact that increased magnification negatively affects your time to acquire a target and your ability to spot your impacts. There is no free lunch available. Everything you change about a...
I have not. Should be fine practice ammo. The BTHP has a reputation for being less consistent in terms of expansion/fragmentation on impact, sort of like the SMKs. It would not be my choice for critters.
It’s a Hornady VMAX with a black tip. It will penetrate a bit less than a TMK or ELDM. But there have been other posting in this thread that have used them on pigs. I’ve only shot it at the range.
I’ll echo what others have said. My suppressed 223 Tikka is, hands down, the most fun rifle I own. My daughter and wife love shooting it. It’s quiet and easy to spot impacts through the scope at ranges of less than 200 yards. It’s also cheap to feed, so you won’t be afraid to shoot it a lot...
I am no podiatrist, just someone who’s had foot issues. So take this all with a grain of salt. If you have tendonitis (turf toe), you will have pain when you flex your toes upward with your hand. If not, what you’re describing may be Morton’s Neuroma or some other type of nerve injury. Nerves...
