This is exactly my opinion as well. I do a 6-9 day backpacking trip every year and after purchasing my EXO 5500 a couple years ago I no longer had any use for my Arc'Teryx pack. If I ever had the desire to go with a smaller pack I would simply purchase the 2000 or 3500. The EXO is far more...
I used to order most spices from Penzey's until, just as you pointed out, they began their political rants. I since switched to ordering completely from The Spice House. I'm sure they have the same political views (there is some connection between the two companies) but at least they don't beat...
Is anyone having difficulty finding the ProBars? Used to be several local places stocked the meal replacement and protein bars, now I can find virtually none.

I discovered the lack of export option last winter after a deer hunt. For me, that is a deal killer. I will still use the app for boundary info but will never depend on OnX to keep my data. I will always carry my GPS unit to save the data - which everyone should probably do anyway. My buddy on...
I run the big buddy propane heater in my wall tent with no condensation issues. While it may not be as "romantic" as a wood burning stove and the smell of a wood fire, it is far easier and means I spend more time hunting and sleeping better instead of collecting firewood and stoking the fire all...
Thanks! I am currently shooting Solid 125s but with their continued price raising, I am looking to try new broadheads. These are still pricey but are similar enough that they might do the trick... Until they follow the same price path.

The two pair of pants I use for all my hunting - from September in the desert through winter chasing upland game - are the Kanabs and the Eddie Bauer Guide Pros. Both fit wonderfully, dry quickly and are quiet. For multi-day hunts I usually opt for the Kanabs just because they will stink less.
I am curious who else uses the Solid Broadheads, specifically, how durable are you finding the heads? I was shooting this evening into my Matrix target and when I pulled out one of the arrows the bleeder blade was snapped off. This is on top of both heads that were used to take an elk and mule...
Looks like I am in the minority but I really like the Mount Hagen coffee. I usually buy the large jar and then put the proper portion in a small ziploc baggie. In fact, I have used it in place of regular coffee at home when I run out of beans and don't mind it at all.
I have only shot one banded bird in my life and it so happened to also be the first white-fronted goose (specklebelly) I ever shot as well. It was a beautiful old bird banded 12 years prior in Alaska. I had a local shop recommended and met the gentleman with his family in town and gave him the...
For my cow I shot last fall I used a 150 quart Igloo Max Cold and still had to put one meat bag in my 65 quart food cooler. The meat was boned out as well except for the shanks.
Nice buck Trial! Looks like a buck I saw chasing a doe on my first day. Beyond that I witnessed no rut activity, did you guys see the same lack of activity? These warm windy conditions are tough too.
If the femoral artery is severed, that animal won't be alive long. Not purposefully but twice I have shot deer in the pelvic area and severely damaged the artery and both died within 50 yards. One left a pretty good blood trail and the other didn't leave a drop. In fact, we didn't know where it...
Chalk up another vote for the canvas tent. My folks used to have the Cabela's Bighorn tent - same material as the Alaknak - with a wood stove and much like others have mentioned the condensation was a major issue. In the end, the tent wasn't well taken care of and rotted so I now have the 12 x...
