We have 4 kids. 1 party for all the kids birthdays in a neutral month(July for us) and we just celebrate as a family(me, wife, and 4 kids. No one else is invited) on their birthday in the evening. Grandparents come to the big party and it makes the actual birthday simple.
On a side note...
My hunting partner used to heat his tent with a buddy heater and a co detector - a couple years ago during elk season we didn’t want to set up the wall tent and used his buddy heater setup - I woke up in the middle of the night really nauseous. I was suspicious of the buddy heater so I turned it...
This is why you’re getting the responses.
Nebraska muzzleloader, archery, and any rifle tag with a mule deer went to a draw for non residents a couple seasons ago. Used to be unlimited otc.
I really enjoy the mindpump programs, and their podcast has lots of great information. even if you don’t do their workouts, the podcast will be super helpful.
They definitely opened my eyes to the fact you don’t need to beat the shit out of yourself to be in good shape. (It’s really the...
Just asking that question tells me you’ll do good. Read this the other day - here’s a few things to avoid. As your kids get older it’s easy to end up doing many of the things below.
How can you say outside and Gaia are going downhill when they’re publishing brave and relevant stories like this😂

I actually had forgotten I tried Gaia last year until the f’ng auto renew when through a...
Nebraska rifle can be fun if you go into it with the right expectations. I know some guys that come up from New Mexico every year and have a blast. Some good deer get taken on public every year, but you'll see more younger deer than mature on public. Even in the western units with Mule deer...
I don't think your out of line. Were a family of 6 and are in that ballpark. We have done a few things to try to mitigate it, but eating reasonably healthy isn't cheap...
I'll get some pushback, but using a debit card instead of a credit card really makes you think about an impulse purchase knowing that money is coming directly out of your account. I'm not a big spender anyway and I'm still confident that were money ahead of the Scheels points we used to...
I think the thing that made the post taboo was actual $ amounts. IMO finances are a personal thing, my wife is a CPA and her first boss frowned on doing taxes for friends and family. It was one of the first things he addressed after hiring her.
Everyone's situation and goals are so different...
I'm 40 and have done manual labor my whole career(electrician), with 0 back problems, so the work isn't the problem. Our bodies are meant to move! We actually just hired a guy that was a supervisor at one of the plants we do work at and his back pain actually went away from losing a few pounds...
I got Nebraska MZ pronghorn, Colorado 1st rifle elk, and Nebraska Archery & Rifle deer - If I had to pick one(Thankfully this is American and I don't 💪) hunt it would be the Colorado Elk so I guess that's what I'm most excited for.
I've had to work both of those weekend for probably the last 10 years and always thought the same thing. I'm not so sure after taking both of them off this year.
Memorial weekend I took my family to the Black Hills and had no problem finding a campsite when we got there around 6PM. There...
Boomers can talk crap all day about younger generations being lazy, but you raised us…
We’ve hired a few 20 year olds and honestly many of these kids had no father figure or any sort of direction or discipline in their life. You give them and chance and treat them with a little respect and...
