In black bear country I usually ust have my food hanging on a tree somewhere in a dry bag. It's not hung high, mostly just to keep chipmunks out of it. I probably still have snacks still in my backpack in the tent regularly.
In grizzly country I dont mess around. Practice proper bear safe...
Just remember that HQ tags are solely based on how many people apply. Almost every archery tag in NM that has good public land access is "HQ". But either way you should have less pressure at least compared to pressured CO or similar. The only external pressure to kill a bull comes from your...
Like others have said the rifle and bullet are solid. Practice more. My 3006 groups really start to open up once that barrel heats up. Slow down, shoot another gun, swab your barrel, etc in between groups to let the barrel cool. Your hunting shot will be with a cold clean barrel most of the time...

I like the tag return/leftover system for its flexibility but would understand why would piss people off. I returned a deer tag last year because I drew a NM deer tag and couldn't do both.
Leftover list is usually my fallback to pick up a tag in my unit that was once otc without using my pp...
I'm outside in Central TX almost every day and just sweat alot in general. I wear just cotton T shirts 90% of the time. Nylon fishing shirts snag on brush too easily and just feel uncomfortable when wet to me. I'll wear SPF fishing shirts in the boat or the pool/lake.
Also, you just have to...
All good info. Also unless you see it fall don't start whopping, hollaring, & recording your videos for the gram yet. Be silent for a good long while and listen for a death moans, crashes, hoofs, rocks etc. Don't be the dude that's yelling you "smoked him!" celebrating early and then can't find...
If you can get lucky and find good Sept imagery you can find some places to avoid. (roads with camps/RVs every 100 yards or trailheads/ FS roads with a dozens pickups parked, etc)
