Good Post @Team4LongGun
I have also fallen victim a few times as well. Sometimes you can't avoid looking at a train wreck.
I got caught up in the western states - non-resident access / legislation threads. I did have a couple members give me some really good feedback regarding some of my...
That is good to know and I glady retract my previous comment.
I have a 257 Roberts in a Montana ASR that I am pretty happy with. It sat on the dealers rack for a long time with no interest, so it followed me home one day.
There is a stainless composite stock model in 7mm-08 that is still...
The 300wsm favors the 150 - 180 grain bullets. It has a short magazine. 200's might need to be seated a bit deeper in a WSM.
"Short" is a key word in the nomenclature.
A 257 Roberts in an M70....................... I hate you. That is unless you are old, sickly, and I am in your will.
I have the same rifle and it is my first M70. With 150's to 180's it is more accurate than I am.
150's aren't bad. 180's have some thump. You can tell the difference.
From a field position the recoil isn't bad with either.
From the bench 180's are not friendly.
Mine was zeroed for 180's...
Primers and powders used to be corrosive and that is why your father / grandfather cleaned their rifle every time they used it.
The Marine Corps policy was that you cleaned your weapon for three consecutive days after firing it. Likely a left over from the old days of corrosive components.

Be ready to learn from your mistakes because you are going to make them. Not repeating them is what makes you a better hunter.
Learn to hunt the way you enjoy it the most, not just the way everyone else does it.
We lost Kimber a couple years ago and I still miss her.
We rescued her as an abandoned puppy. Thought she was a chocolate lab........... Turns out she was a Vizsla. Boy did we get an education.
I don't bird hunt so she was a companion dog and one of the best dogs I've ever had.

Prices do not include shipping.
Payment is by USPS Money Order only. I do not use PayPal or other electronic funds. If you need Rokslide references, I can give you links to my other sale threads...

Very interesting thread and most of it was worth the time it took to read 39 pages.
I like what I use and probably am not going to change myself, but the information is well worth it.
This thread hasn't changed my opinion of the .223, however it has expanded it. I already know many that use...
