    RokStok

I'm all for free market dynamics, but will say that selling the rokstok with a markup in its own home with the home owner there watching takes a certain kind of thinker. Marking up other non-rok* gear not quite comparable imo. Back on topic, got mine a few weeks back but just mounted this week...

    Favorite overall Suppressor

https://pewscience.com/rankings a great resource. I'm also researching for my first suppressor and looking to find a .30cal can with minimal first round pop (FRP), < 8", with best suppression possible. Top suppression for the caliber in bolt action category seems to be the PTR Vent 1 and CAT JL...

Drew the Mule deer tag for Big Bend State Park!

Oh man, beautiful country. Did the Black Gap WMA predator hunt last season and didn't take anything but enjoyed the experience immensely. The stars are insane. Profile pic from that hunt as well.

    Ireland sheep hunt

Reviving this thread as I'm headed to Ireland Oct next year for a guy's golf trip, followed by wives meeting up. Eager to branch off though on front end for some hunting. Started looking at https://www.npws.ie/ to understand licenses but could use some help on leads for guides/sites/whatever to...

Jim Green African Ranger Barefoot Boots

Given construction, I wonder what cobbler cost would be to put a higher traction sole on the barefoot models?

    LED Lantern

From /r/flashlight, there is a pinned message linking to a great arbitrary list of recommended lights. The Sofrin BLF LT1 is mentioned bc of its "4x18650 lantern with Anduril and variable color temperature at 90 CRI. USB-C charging and powerbank functionality." Seems pretty awesome but 800 max...

My gear/pack layout from base layers to binos

@Formidilosus, have you gotten any time with the Initial Ascent IA8K yet? Curious if it loads as well as I hear while passing your usability testing.

    Kuiu kutana vs attack

I love my Kutanas and wear them year round. Will use a baselayer if below freezing. I do run warm though and legs rarely cold unless completely static. Do note there is a fit difference between the two, with Kutanas slightly slimmer than Attacks. See my post here for differences in size 34.

My gear/pack layout from base layers to binos

@Formidilosus , I'm this close to fishnets. I run hot myself, and typically would just run a light merino hooded baselayer (e.g. Kuiu 145) until the 40s. So I anticipate tshirt use over long sleeve wool net a frequent pattern. How durable are they though? I hunt in TX with all types of...

Tikka "Rokslide Special", let's see 'em

I've been wanting a can for my 6.5cm, but all this Rokslide reading and I'm debating a smaller caliber build instead. Only curve ball, I'm a lefty. So really have no idea how to get myself to a 223 unless there's a clear rechamber path. 22creed the other idea I've been toying given Tikka sells...

    Vivo forest tracker esc durability

Snow shoeing was uneventful for the Vivos, just as I like. Only went 2mi, but strap system, temp, and water didn't bother my feet.

    Mods Please Delete

I like the Garmin Forerunner line. Very thin and light, so easy to wear with all clothing and disappears when asleep. Has ton of multi-sport features as well, close to Fenix. I got one of these straps to go with it and it's pretty fantastic. Never adjust, very secure, super comfy.

    Vivo forest tracker esc durability

Indeed! I didn't hold back on my West TX trip and they held up great. If you've been in the area, everything is sharp, spiked, and jagged. Feel like I really tested the overall boot and the bootguard. Just washed them up before a Montana Pitch Blend application to prep for non-hunting Colorado...
