    FWIW, I sent my VX3HD 2.5-8x36 off to go through the Rokslide zero retention evaluation. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up to the SWFA 2.5-10x32 which has already gone through the eval.

    Vehicle paint protection?

    Honestly, yes and yes. I didn’t buy it to resell, it’s going to depreciate, and the desert sun will probably ruin the paint before I’m done with it anyway. If I lived somewhere rust was an issue, I probably wouldn’t have the same flippant attitude because then it becomes a function problem.

    Embrace the scratched paint as a sign you're using the truck as intended and it's not some mall crawling, pavement princess. Make the dealership shudder when you bring it back in for its first service and they see what you've done to it.

    I do, and would not recommend the bottom metal and Mamba mag in the current state. The Mamba mag sticks WAAAYYY out and is relatively heavy.     That’s roughly what I came up with and have experienced in shooting the two. A 77gr 223 in a rifle weighing the same as a 6.5 Grendel shooting a 120 gr bullet will have twice the recoil. Roughly 4 ft/lb vs 8 ft/lb.

    Look at the 6mm ARC over the Grendel if you really think you want a caliber you can travel to other states with. There will be a noticeable difference in recoil between a .223 and 6.5 Grendel to a recoil-sensitive kid. Both have limited recoil, but the Grendel will still be almost 2x the 223...
