10x42 Binoculars for a new hunter

Good deal. I would take these few days to think about the following... 1. Do you eventually want to upgrade to alpha level glass? If so, consider holding off until you can find a deal on used or save up to buy new. It will save you a lot of money in the long run as many of us can attest to. 2...

    Stone glacier velcro issue!

This was my exact experience/remedy on my Krux Evo. Kurt/SG will get you squared away regardless. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    How far do you glass?

It's a tradeoff game... Spend more time glassing farther with lower efficacy or less time glassing closer with higher efficacy, likely with similar results if not skewed toward closer. I have found I tend to be more successful if I stay within the confines of my glass. In my experience...

    Desert Bighorn Binoculars

I would seriously consider meopta 12s or even 15s if you’re trying to stay a little cheaper. With already packing a tripod for your spotter, mount your binos and let them work for you. In my experience, handholding your binos looking for desert sheep is usually the exception, not the rule. Those...

    Tripod for Big Eyes

I recently built up a set of Kowa twin spotters. The setup came in just under 6.5lbs. My Slik 634 is a bit under-gunned for the weight in anything but the calmest conditions and at a very low height. I have an older set of aluminum legs but ideally I would like a 3-section set of carbon legs...

Kowa 664M Dual Spotter Set-Up/ Magnifier vs 20-60

I am in the process of building a set as well. I went ahead and purchased the zoom eyepiece along with 2 30x eyepieces. I haven't built up a bracket for them yet but I have put the 30x WA and the 20-60 zoom side by side to compare. I'm looking forward to getting them setup. Planning to start...

    Kowa vs Swaro

I haven’t looked through the 77 series but I will agree the TE 9 zoom eyepiece with the 66 is decent but not on swaro x level in my opinion. However, the fixed 30x eyepiece (TE 14 I believe) on the Kowa 66 is very impressive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    First spotting scope, packing questions.

Wrap it in a piece of foam and use that foam as a glassing pad.

    NL Pure 12x42 field use

Checked out a buddy’s pair this past weekend. I only use 10x42s and hand-holding those NL 12s, they walk, talk and act like 10s with extra magnification and an IMAX feel. Really impressive binoculars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    bino harness

I’ve used the FHF, Marsupial and Kuiu pro most recently. Kuiu has solved any gripe I had with the other two. Comfortable, holds your binos securely (even when left open), compact and streamlined with durable and usable side pockets. You can also mold the case to your binoculars profile along...
