    Sig Zulu6 PRO (NEW GLASS)

I thought these new Pros were only going to be made in currently unavailable magnifications. So there would only be a 14x and 18x version

How many arrows do you bring?

I’d bring at least two quivers full. If you’re traveling, especially if you’re flying, you should make sure nothing got bumped out of place in transit. You can use one of your quiver arrows to test, but unless you bring a foam target with you, I’d make peace with potentially losing that arrow at...

    Sig Zulu 6 12’s or 16’s?

    12s. Maybe 10s.

Shooting the spine out an arrow?

Are you consistently shooting one broadhead as a practice head? Sounds like it could be bent. I’d try a new head. Like @5MilesBack said, doesn’t sound like the bow.

Hoyt Torrex Side Plates!...... Well Kind of

Was just thinking about this actually. I don’t love the grip option you landed on, but I can’t really find any other options for anything Hoyt. I am shocked how few options there are for Hoyt while Matthew’s has tons. Did you consider any others?

EL's and Sig Zulu 6 tripod head attachment options-Aziak?

Personal preference. Tricer has a zulu6 adapter that they told me will ship next week. I think that’s the most optimal solution. The clamps wouldn’t be a ton of extra to put on if you are already stopping to get out a tripod. Sig is also releasing their own clamp similar to Aziak’s (they told me...

Fixed broadhead tuning - longer distance

Appreciate that data point. I rechecked my cam timing after hearing this and they were slightly out of time. Had to add one full twist and now I am able to group my QADs with FP at 50. Feel pretty stupid in hindsight since I didn’t check this immediately but didn’t think they would have worked...

Fixed broadhead tuning - longer distance

Tagging on to this - I experienced the same problem myself today. I'm only a 27.0 draw, and I calculate my arrows are going roughly ~263 fps (68 lbs, 421 grains). I was tuning today with fixed blade, QAD exodus. I'm struggling to decipher some of the advice given here if they were using fixed...

Issues with stability on my bow hand

Not a coach - the angle of your shot in the video is a difficult one on its own. From what I saw, you used your hips and shoulders to lower your bow most of the way and then lowered only your front arm to get the last bit. That will make it unstable. And your follow through seemed to pull away...

Where is the future of optics headed?

I would agree that auto detection of animals is for sure too far, but that is not what I took away from the current list of features being incorporated. I think being able to manually ‘tag’ things would be useful and not a step too far.

Where is the future of optics headed?

Read an interesting article about Unistellar (a telescope maker) releasing a new pair of binoculars that are on the leading edge of incorporating technology. These binoculars are going to use augmented reality (AR) to support the following capabilities: The ENVISION binoculars offer four modes...

    "Funny" TSA Thread

I had an elk bugle tube in my carry on last year. They flagged my bag in the xray machine to be pulled aside. The agent starts pulling out all my items, which included my Spot Hogg (solid metal) sight and binoculars. Gets to the bugle tube and starts looking at it funny - clearly has no idea...

Let's help some guys/gals get their first archery elk!

I mean that certainly makes sense. Always felt like it was a Catch 22 - some guys say go slow and listen, other guys say you gotta cover ground. I suppose the context of the terrain involved is key there. If it’s timber I don’t see a way around going slow. If you’re in the south with more open...

Let's help some guys/gals get their first archery elk!

I’m still enjoying my tag soup leftovers. Last year the unit we hunted was completely silent. We were running into fresh sign, but it was clear the elk weren’t being vocal. It was an easy to get, non-res tag so that isn’t surprisingly. We ended up still hunting for the second half of the trip...

    Arrow weight rabbit hole

You will be best served to focus on improving your shooting than improving your equipment (which doesn’t need changes as others have said). Better accuracy from your form will be far more deadly than the minuscule improvements from your set up at this point.

    Sig Sauer Zulu6

And out of curiosity - has anyone tried the Zulus on a monopod? I bought the Aziak adapter to convert a trekking pole to a monopod. I’m very prone to motion sickness and I couldn’t stand it very long with regular binoculars. Wondering how good it would be with Zulus for long periods of glassing

    Sig Sauer Zulu6

For those interested, Tricer just announced they will be making a tripod adapter for the Zulu 6 that replaces the battery cap. Looks like a better mounting solution than the Aziak version, but it’s $70 ($20 more than Aziak). You can pre order now for delivery at the end of July
