I haven't ever seen one of those in person yet. No my groups don't open up the barrel shoots consistent 4-5 shot fist size groups at 500 yards in the summer so it works from me. I placed 2nd in open light last year with it also. Its threaded 1/2"-28 so just have to have one that fits that is...
The chassis works great for hunting and NRL to make light weight has just a little flex when you really flex it is the only thing I've found about them. I have 3 magnesium and an aluminum one now so I like them! Yeah you can definitely add weights to the outside and the inside. I add them to...
Been thinking of getting one of their setups too. They have a 25% off Memorial Day sale going on now. I been looking at the 10 deg convertible light quilt and fast sheet paired with an x therm pad I’ll hunt 2nd rifle in Colorado this year. What one have you been looking at?
I ran open light this year with an Impact action, XLR magnesium 4.0, 24.25” #4 contour barrel, Burris XTR Pro, and a double pull light ckye pod and was at 11.81lbs running 140 eldms at 2810. Also shot a teams match and just swapped out the barrel to a MTU and was under 16lbs.
I've thought about getting some heavier weight base layers to maybe not have to bring extra clothes and to use if it gets really cold like the ones below

What heavy weight ones do you have?
What hardshell do you have?
I get pretty cold just sitting and glassing is why I have the extra layers. The extra gloves were there for options depending on how cold it was.
Yes I have snow skied a bunch of times and my layering system works good for that since I am not sitting for long periods of time.
Yeah I like the...
Yeah I cut more weight every time I post a list it seems like lol I carry a contractor bag and my buddy carries a bag too last year we divided the deboned meat in half and carried it out once back at camp we put in coolers.
I tend to run cold or I would get rid of the hoody I have been looking at different options as far as a wind shirt and a rain shell is lighter then the Jetstream its a heavy jacket... I'm not taking a bipod and took a leg off the tripod and a lower section out of it so it weights 25oz and I can...
Yeah the bug spray is in my pack all summer for training and forget about it on the list haha That is a good point just like having an extra light and only being 1oz its hardly nothing but ounces adds to pounds... I have 1 lighter and like 8 waterproof matches we will be any where from 4-8...
I will most likely do that just is nice to have a hot cup of coffee or tea when your glassing later on in the day. I run OnX on my phone last year and needed the battery pack towards the evening packing out an elk last year in the dark. Wont take the bug spray
Sure have been learning a ton reading all I can on this forum!
I am going on a 4th season rifle elk hunt in Colorado again this year and have been fine tuning my gear list over the last several months and figured a few more sets of eyes on it wouldn't hurt!
We are hunting the same unit this...
LS-254c on the left 40oz with spiked feet use for my mountain glassing tripod and LS-323c on the right 4.3lbs use for night hunting hogs Work’s perfect standing up and not to heavy to pack around.
I’ve got a LS-254C right now that I have been testing and going to use to elk hunting in November that I really like and feel comfortable shooting kneeling out to 500 yards on it weights 40oz with spiked feet. I won’t be standing to glass off of so I don’t need the center column that comes with...
I've collected a few Leofoto tripods over the years one of things that I've learned is each tripod has its advantages and disadvantages. The obvious is the larger tripod you get the heavier its going to be but with that you gain more stability. I am 5' 11" and finding a tall enough tripod to...
