Spotting scope recommendations

Hey everyone I was hoping to get some recommendations on spotting scopes. I currently have the vortex Razor 65mm. I would like to stay in the same size range. I just haven't been very impressed with the Razor. I just want something a little better until I can afford something like a Swarovski or Kowa. I have considered the older Kowa 663/664 but I haven't been able to find much about it.

I think you are going to overwhelmingly receive advice to look for a used kowa or swaro. And for good reason. Someone will chime in with first hand experience with the 663/664 kowas. If you’re patient you’ll find a good deal pop up on the classifieds. If your wanting to upgrade, I wouldn’t settle for something else.

I have a kowa 773 and my buddy has the 663. We just got back from a hunt in Colorado, I would say I was pretty impressed with the 663 compared to the 773. After that hunt, If I was in the market, I would get a 663 and take the money I saved from not getting the 773 and help fund another project.

I wouldn't spend the money on something "a little better". Save up and get quality glass. The classifieds are a great place to score some good deals.

I had a Swaro then switched to a Kowa 55. Used it for the last couple of years for long distance elk spotting. Very happy with it
