Don't mess with my 1st rifle! Those are fighting words.... I really like 1st rifle, because for me it's a backcountry hunt with a rifle, that isn't hardcore winter camping, which really isn't that much fun. It's not really a high-pressure season, rarely see many people out there for it. It's...
I live near Buffalo Creek, but haven't been able to camp there in years, unless I want to leave a vehicle there all week to hold my spot, and that's just a dick move. I guard my camping spots as close as I do my hunting spots. The van life crowd has taken over all the good camping spots close...
I will typically carry the same when bowhunting or packing meat. Nothing when rifle hunting. 2 loaded 15 rd mags is a lot of extra weight to carry, when I'm already counting ozs.
They already have this in place in the Maroon Belles, and the Conundrum Hot Springs between Crested Butte and Aspen. I wouldn't be surprised to see this extended to many other areas. Draw for permits to camp, etc.
That's the official line from CPW. It has been stated many times for the Gunnison basin units that this a major issue, hence the conversion of many units to draw there years ago. Either way, was just pointing it out, I hunt archery, rifle, and ML, whatever I draw. Never seem to have issues...
Also, large numbers of archery hunters in areas that back up to large private ranches push the elk out of public land sooner, and reduce hunting opportunities, as well as causing conflict with Ag producers. All draw for Grand Mesa is great news.
Several other important actions HOWL is currently working on as well. Take a minute and hit those as well. Montana and Washington state need our support.
If they packed all that stuff in, maybe you could have hired them to pack your elk out. They would probably work for a few extra snacks..... Hippies need A LOT of snacks.
These are comfy boots, I have a set of the older Salomons for my light hikers. Had pretty good durability out of them, and they are comfortable enough I'm on my 3rd pair over the years.
Looks good, I have a few elk racks that I have been wanting to do this with, from when I didn't know any better than to put them in the yard for the bugs to clean. Did you put a sealer coat or anything else on them to finish them, or just the wax?
We need those immigrants to take those jobs if domestic workers are unable or unwilling. They have always been a significant portion of the labor force. If my company could do an extra $50 million a year in work that we turn down now for lack of labor, a significant portion of that would end...
This is correct, at least from what I've seen recently. The unemployment number is based off those looking for work, and doesn't include those who have dropped out of the labor force completely. There are tons of low wage jobs available, people just won't take them, every fast food place, gas...
The focus needs to be on training these unskilled Americans to have some worthwhile skills, whether it's building factories, maintaining them or running the robots, not on trying to compete with automation or low wage foreign production. Companies like Amazon and Starbucks offer college tuition...
I started a business at 15, and have started several other small businesses over the years, funded by working crappy jobs until I was able to quit, because I made enough working for myself to do so. I pursued high skilled jobs from the beginning. Thats the path I want my kids on, not the low...
This is spot on. Amazon uses a ton of automation in it's distribution plants, but they still have to be built, each one of them is a $50-$100 million+ construction project. A lot of jobs building them, and then the constant upgrades and service drive a continuous revenue stream. That's just...
I often hunt with camp on my back, and yes, lighter definitely lends itself to longer. I do tend to hump in a heavy food bag to a common location and visit it every few days instead of dragging it with me.
My brother has a philosophy degree, he also has an MBA, and makes north of $200k a year. Does he use his bachelors for business? No. But it set a good foundation of critical thinking, and rational analysis, along with the ability to understand multiple points of view. He also failed multiple...
