A lot of points already covered on here. I tow a 27' 3" with a 3/4 ton diesel. The trailer is a heavier 4 season trailer so I wanted a heavier truck. In addition I use the Equal-i-zer hitch which per the RV store was a bit overkill for my setup. Not sure how well the twin turbo will last...
Yes. Compresses in dia to about the size of a Nalgene, but is a bit taller. I like that it is quiet when laying on it and as a side sleeper I find that my hips dont touch the ground. Takes between 2-3 snozzle bags of air to inflate.
I think you will like it, I am in the waiting que for my new CImarron. Hopefully it ships in the next week or two, sounds like they have been working tirelessly to get orders caught up. Though I say hopefully not at the expense of their quality.
I have not but I will say that the SO was my second choice and I did order a new tipi from them. I looked at the SO Lanner 5400. Since both Exo and SO are cottage manufacturers I used data from this forum as well as correspondence with reps. Wish I could put them both side by side. In the...
I have a WM Versalite which is made from their lightest fabric. Love the bag and it is light and packable. I would never place it directly on the ground, it is always on a sleeping pad, in a tent, likely all on a tyvek ground cloth. It is not loose in the pack but in a sea-to-summit...
I would still consider the Exo. They are super comfortable and easy to use. I chose them for the frame and pack material. In addition I liked the big compartment without a bunch of pockets or other manufacturer organization cubbies. Lastly, I did the Exo 6400 because they can be compressed...
How goes the effort to get the DCF orders shipped? I know the SO staff wasn't sewing much over the last 8 weeks, but am wondering if April/May orders will still ship early July?
Just rebarreled my 6x47L into a 6mm Creed. Right now I am running the factory load Hornady Black and getting under 1/2moa at 100 with consistent velocities measured by a Labradar. Im a huge Berger fan so once I start to reload 6mm I am leaning toward the 105's. Im running a 28" Bartlein with...
I would do accu-tac bipod. Solid, a bit heavier, but the legs are rock solid. I have an accu-tac on my precision rifle and wouldn't replace it with anything. As for rings there are hundreds. Seekins precision makes some nice ones, I use Night Force on a couple of mine but also have some...
Im 5-11 and went with the 6'6" for a couple of reasons. First many forums I read mentioned that if you are a side/stomach sleeper you add a couple inches to your height. Think about your toes being pointed and adding the length of your feet to your height. Second, it gives room to fully pull...
I joined in Apr so I guess I am still somewhat of a FNG, but this site is addictive. I too am on the front range in CO, although if my job wasn't here I would live either west slope or central mountains of CO. Denver is a disaster and it is starting to pull in the rest of the front range...
Im considering the ivory holsters for my Exo bag. I had a drop leg when deployed for about 1 week and got rid of it. Ivory has a couple different attachment options so you could run it on the pack waistbelt and when you drop the pack move it over to a belt. Just another option.
Great thread and comments are interesting. For the last few years I have not used them, but bought a set off Amazon that are highly rated to try out this year. Obviously if you are running a light backpacking tent or some tipi's they are gear as they become your support pole. Im excited to...
