My father and mother are booked for 2021 with an outfitter a family friend of ours hunted with last year. We had dinner with him last year at DSC. He played tennis at UCF and his English is prefect. If touring is part of your plans, our friend's wife loved the trip, hence why my father is taking...
The later, the better. I got a really good buck last year a little after Christmas. It's been very, very dry this year. Just when you think it's never going to rain, our ranch got tons of rain yesterday. The tanks that were all dry are now filled.
There is nothing wrong with a 2" Rage Hypodermic. I used this on my Rocky and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Sheep die easy and the 2" cutting diameter is very desirable if the shot isn't perfect.
If it's just sheep, that would be fine. However, if bear or moose are on the list as well, it might be a little light. Yes, I know moose have been killed with a 25-06 but I'd prefer something with a little more umph behind it. I took a .308 with 150 grain Accubonds and had 200 grain Accubonds...
Are you open to archery hunting? Might be able to pull one of the archery tags. Yes, the success rate is low but at least you are sheep hunting. If you are able to mark off the majority of the season, it might be worth it.
Absolutely. With the 200 grain bullet, I would have no issue using the .308. Not to mention, I shoot this gun very well. I took this gun to Africa on 3 occasions and its performance on my zebra was darn impressive. Took him head on and it ran the whole length of him and was just under the skin...
If you are willing to get a bow and practice all summer, there are some units that you'd be likely to draw and have a shot at a ram, especially if you hired an outfitter. How bad do you want to sheep hunt?
First time in the draw for me, so very anxious. Beginner's luck in my future? Do they hit cards, email, or do I check the PDFs on the website to know if I was successful? Thanks in advance.
Just got back and on the flight home from Phoenix. Diamond Outfitters was the booking agent and Trophy Hunts of Sonora was the outfitter. It was an exceptional hunt and I would go back in a heartbeat. Paul Burgeois was our guide and he also guides for Diamond. He was an exceptional person and...
Leave Friday for a Coues Whitetail hunt with them in Mexico. We booked this at Sheep Show in 2018. I'll let you all know how it goes. My father and I are both going. Crossing the border at Nogales and heading SW 1 hour by car, so keep us in your prayers--this could be the most dangerous trip of...
A lot of people say that as a resident, NV is a great place to draw a tag. If you stay there, you will eventually hunt a NV sheep. Get your butt down to Sheep Show this week and talk to people. In the interim, start looking at AK for a Dall. That's the most inexpensive hunt, sans a drawn tag in...
Newfoundland is drivable for you. All things considered, it's an inexpensive hunt. If you draw a Shiras in the lower 48, you may ultimately hire an outfitter and you are right where you'd be with a tag to hunt in Newfoundland immediately. There are also affordable moose hunts just across the...
