If allowing someone to bait for bears and others not to, like you said in your previous post, then yes I would.
I honestly see this being very similar to the feds closing caribou hunting to “non locals” in some areas for no reason scientific reason.
My point is that there are plenty of outdoorsmen who would not support public land if they aren’t allowed to hunt or fish on it but yet mr hiker camper is allowed to tromp all over the place. I know I know “their loss” but I would venture to say that a lot of people that use public land for...
If you’re not allowed to hunt what good does public land do?
I would venture to guess most hunters care more about their ability to be able to hunt and fish, whether that be on public or private property, than they do for who owns the section of land.
This here.
Only thing I’ll add is I wouldn’t even consider fishing for kings even if the season is open while you’re here.
If you plan on fishing with a guide, don’t book one who is affiliated with a lodge. Use a guide who owns their own boat and guide business.
Most outfitters don’t own the land they just lease hunting privileges. One bighorn sheep would be worth 10-20 aoudad rams just going off numbers off the top of my head. A lot of the ranches/outfitters that I know of don’t even kill but 8-12 rams a year at most.
The issue is outfitters/ranchers...
If only the ranchers and state bios for state land in BHS areas of the Trans-Pecos would exterminate all aoudad and focus on habitat for native sheep. One would think there would be more money to be made doing that than with invasive sheep.
.270 130 grain sierra game kings have dumped a number of them for me and my family. I’ve shot several through both lungs and they just acted like nothing happened, walked off about 100 yards, laid down and finally died 20-30 min later. Now I just shoot them square in the shoulder so they can’t...
Meat and food stays right by the tent for me. Moth balls in panty hose and sweaty dirty socks or shirt tied close to hanging meat and food bag along with urinating around camp especially on/along any path a bear might use to come check things out. In my mind that lets any would be thief know...
The fact that people in 2023 don’t even understand why we have a second amendment and what it’s for is laughable. Especially after the last two and a half years.
Kevin’s response was extremely weak and came off as trying to play the victim card after advocating for cancelling anybody who isn’t...
OP thanks for posting this. Listened to the podcast and geez, so much BS spewed. Ol’ boy Ryan is blinded by his own hatred that he can’t even figure out what it is that is so bad other than anyone that isn’t a socialist. The other knuckleheads on there just nodded and agreed the whole time. It’s...
And more than likely it was a free ranging wild Rocky. If you said you saw a dead 6x6 between junction and sheffield then yes it would have been one that got out from behind somebody's high fence.
Looking at getting a nest/bivy for my Seek LBO. Wondering what ultralight options are out there besides what I’ve already looked at. The SO Cimarron nest is bigger and heavier than what I’d like, the MLD solomid xl net is about the right size but seems heavy (or just me thinking it is). I’ve...
