Take a look at Fort Scott Ammunition. That is what I carry in my CCW and they are designed to tumble creating a large wound channel. I get that pistol and rifle ballistics is very different but they also produce rifle cartridges and I carry Fort Scott in my 45-70.
I have always heard great things about Defiance, but then again I have also heard great things about Surgeon and Big Horn actions as well. I have a Big Horn action on a 6mm Creed and absolutely love the mechanical extractor of it.
Check with a couple LTL carriers such as ABF or Old Dominion. Both do household moves as well so you may not need a business account. Depending on where you are at you may need an interline carrier in ID. Costs could be cut by taking the drums to the freight terminal.
I did the Marmot Minimalist rain jacket which is awesome, and i found some mountain hardware pants on the rack at Sierra Trading for around 60% off. I have not used the pants yet, but like many others would only bother to drag them out if was a torrential downpour.
Mine is supposed to deliver today. I didn't need a Redcliff size so I went with the Cimarron and too am doing the carbon pole. The only other thing I added was the line locs which supposedly allow you to vent the bottom a bit easier.
I too have wondered about this. Crispi does publish a flex rating, but what is it comparable to? If a tennis shoe is a 1 and a hiking shoe is a 2, then would a lightweight hiking boot be a 3 or maybe 4? What is the max number for stiffness? I am looking to replace my Asolo Fugitive GTX so...
From my research the Dyneema version will hold up well in the winter as the fabric does not stretch and due to the sloping walls should shed snow loads pretty easily. Plus, if you run a tent inside the fabric will be warmer and I am guessing the snow will basically melt and drip down the...
I only put Bartlein's on my precision guns and they have been phenomenal. I always recommend them to whomever wants to listen. I am currently running a 28" in 6 creed.
Check with Ivory Holsters (www.ivoryholsters.com). I am going to buy one for my Glock (ya ya another Glock) but they offer great deals to military or law enforcement and he will custom make about anything you want. Very easy to work with. I stumbled onto them when I purchased my EXO pack...
This is one of the first complaints I have seen on Rokslide about a SO product. I am currently waiting for delivery of my SO but I did not order the liner, I went with a nest instead. In addition I went with the LBO nest rather than the 1/2 Cim nest to create even more room around the stove...
I concur with many posts above. When I was looking for something new I stumbled upon Luxe as well which peaked my interest as they were the design I liked with the stove jack. Too many comments about holes, shoddy sewing, and poor customer service. Granted for the price I am paying for my...
If floor is your biggest screening criteria then I recommend Hilleberg like so many others. The single thing that swayed me from Hille was the weight and the tunnel design/interior space. The design is absolutely bombproof and in the end I figured it was overkill as I wasn't headed to AK or...
Almost went with the Stratospire II LI, but instead went with a tipi style. Was looking at both made from DCF. Now am just waiting on my DCF to arrive.
I'm waiting delivery on mine. I went with the DCF, so no screen and a single door. I am excited to get the tent and try it out. SO has some pretty lengthy lead times, I ordered mine in late May and I am told expect it in late July maybe even early August.
I just bought one and used it straight for about 1 week. Absolutely no issues, what made it shine even more was we had temps from the mid-high 70's during the day to 30's at night and it stayed inflated the whole time. I do however put it in a floored tent with a groundcloth.
I second the TBAC recommendation. I run an Ultra 9 on mine and love it. Prepare to wait 11 months for it. The ATF is great at cashing the check within 48 hours but it takes them 11 months to get the tax stamp back to you. Efficiency at its finest.
Interesting conundrum. I think I will go with my PWS in .308. It is very accurate accurate, I can screw on my TBAC Ultra 9, it will chamber milspec 7.62 ammo, and I can carry a bunch of ammo in extra mags. I figure if we can only have 1 rifle I may want it for more than just hunting.
