    Elk vs. Mule Deer

Good listen Robby. Tough to say how much affect elk have on deer everywhere but I don't think anyone can deny that if the two are competing for a limited resource, Elk will win every time.

    Shot Sequence in the Field?

In practicing for the cold bore challenge I've noticed that I don't always do everything I can to facilitate success. Such as utilizing options for rear rifle support. Double checking bubble and so on. What are you guys doing to ensure that doesn't happen to you? Thanks

    Cold Bore Challenge Q&A Thread

Went for a hike today and took two hots at 610. Both were good elevation but left. I believe that there was wind across the canyon. There was on top of ridge but none where I was so I failed to acknowledge it. Guessing target rock was 20" tall x 10" wide but didn't hike over to measure...

Does the 6.5 PRC have enough ass?

Shot distance will also depend on where you are hunting. Above tree line can offer shots as far as the eye can see. In dark timber you may be lucky to have a shot over 100 yards. If you know what type of habitat you'll be in try to practice for that. i.e. dark timber work on close range off...

    Please recommend a predator call

A dedicated predator e caller will allow you to be further away from the speaker with the remote. If you could have a call sequence on your phone you could always leave phone by caller but would not have ability to switch calls or adjust volume.

    2023 Cold Bow Challenge

50 yard MER I've done 60 in the past but with field points. I've done 60 before but with not shooting much and going from field points to broadheads even 50 feels like stretching it out there. Hoyt carbon defiant at 70 with Easton axis 300 spine. 50 gr brass insert and slick trick heads. Reusing...

    Hatch Bipod vs Tripod investment

Talking to a friend about this same topic. We both have XLR stocks. He has had his for years and mine is new. I mentioned that I felt the tripod was slow compared to bipod. He said same as XLR above that with practice you get quick enough with it. I'll be spending time shooting rocks, marmots...

stories of your first archery elk kill?

First elk was with dad and bro. We were all split up and I was sitting a saddle on top of a ridge. Fell asleep and branches breaking from an elk running away woke me up. Stayed awake for another hour and 2 spikes walk through. Shot was 40 paces and he went 10 yards. Used mom's 7 Mauser with...
