    The first records of white explorers and mormon settlers have very few mentions of mule deer. As you said intense grazing shifted the plant community to more browse species. Who would have thought that the Taylor grazing act would be detrimental to deer in the long run.

    What about not just the pressure from a special tag but the phenomenon of being "owed" a special animal because of cashing in 20+ points. Or is that just a Utah thing?

    MER 650. Hope this works. Shot at 640 with light (3ish) wind Bergara 6.5 PRC action with proof barrel and XLR ATOM. Leupold VX5 4x14 with firedot. Wanted to shoot sitting as prone isn't always possible. Did a couple minutes of dry firing then took the shot. Had pack between legs for rear...

    20” 6.5 PRC w/ No Brake

    The first time I shot my 18in barrel the wife who was 20 yards behind me commented on how loud it was. Can't imagine shooting it without ear pro. Have a suppressor on it now that makes it so much better.
