The last photo has the face looking far, far longer than the first, nice goat for sure. That blurry first photo either really makes those ears look quite long or face short. Either way, good results for sure, 6” bases are incredible.
This is a good thread topic. While boots are a very personal fit thing, they type of boot, materials, stiffness are all something to dial in.
I’ve had really good luck with my beartooths and likely will try this v3 version once mine die. I’ve generally preferred light/fast synthetic style...
Wow that’s “busy” - I already found the V2 system to be a bit over the top as well, or is it very busy, and this latest iteration looks like it’s getting a little too cute. But can’t really knock it till you try it - I’m not putting something that complicated on my pack….

That nanny is intense.
His ears should be 3.5 or so - and they look awful big compared to those horns? Tip of nose to corner of eye is 7-8” normally and he looks just shy of that, but figure there’s extra length there due to the curve of course.
Sure. It’s good, but could be better at 18”. My can is 5.75” and 20” barrel. It’s noticeably better than previously rifles but on a LA I’m still thinking an 18” would be better sometimes. 20 is a compromise but keeps some velocity. On a 7PRC I’d probably stick there with a 6” can or less...
Kuiu doesn’t make an insulation similar to alpha or the primaloft version - you want the ambient. For “active insulation” the kenai is closest product, but that’s still faced on the inner side, and far heavier insulated as a puffy. The closest kuiu would have is one of their fleece mid-layer...
The only real difference in stuff is the amount of food needed to sustain in most cases, and clothing/shelter gets driven by weather.

Got barrels super quick so first shots out today. Neck sizing went well once we got the necks dialed in a bit better. This is my first foray into the hand load world so trying to learn as we go, good to have an experienced friend running the bench.

I recently accompanied a good friend on a fly-in backpack mountain goat hunt, and spent 9 days out in the field, which reinforced a few things to me. I thought I’d share, but also note how some of these lessons learned were so much more blunt or extreme given the conditions compared to my home...
