    I've had plenty in the 3-4 year old range and it was fine. The only issue I have run into is vacuum bag failure = freezer burn. Plastic wrap and butcher paper works better for me. I think it is more tender after its been in the freezer for about a year.

    The drive can be anything from dry the whole way to roads closed for a day. What day of the week and what time of day would you be driving? Driving out of Denver Friday afternoon or driving back to Denver Sunday afternoon can add many hours to the drive, even on dry roads.

    FINALLY got my first elk!

    I connected on a follow up Texas heart shot on an elk that was running away from me. Missed the bullseye by like an inch. I agree - shoot till they stay down, but the Texas heart shot makes a mess. My first shot would have killed the elk, but the followup expedited it.
