Black Diamond Alpine Start Hoody, new without tags, XL black
Never worn, too large for me. I wear size L in pretty much everything, but I sized up because I intended on wearing it on top of my down hoody during cold sits. Ultimately decided against the windbreaker-over-down setup, so I don’t...
I was really intrigued by the Evertherm, but ultimately decided against it because there were too many reviews saying it wasn’t warm enough, and IIRC it was also heavy.
OP - I got a Marmot Highlander on sale last year for less than $150 (I think it was about $100, actually). Pretty good...
I picked up the stone glacier sling after my hunt last year. It sits the rifle behind your arm, still on the backpack, but out of your way. It’s still quickly accessible.

If you use the gun bearer where it keeps the gun on the front...
This isn’t quite what you asked for, but a long-range rifle competitor friend of mine recommended Ziess precision rings, and I love them. Very good build quality, noticeably better than other rings I’ve had before...
This has largely been my experience, too. I haven’t met any leftist hunters, but I have a lot of leftist friends and *all* of them have been interested and open minded when I discuss wildlife conservation with them from a standpoint of “let me tell you why I’m so passionate about this.” When I...
I don’t think I would put Mazda in the same class at Honda and Toyota. Those two brands are top notch on reliability. There’s a reason why 10 year old 4Runners and Tacomas are so much more expensive than 10 year old Jeeps and Rangers.
I really like Subarus, but they’re a bit quirky. I’ve had...
Read this entire thread and only saw them mentioned once, so thought I’d drop the name again. Beyond Clothing makes several made in USA pieces. I have two items from them and absolutely love both. If you catch a sale, the prices aren’t bad.

Enlightened Equipment is another brand I’ve seen lots of folks enjoying.
If you’re worried about whether you’ll like a quilt at all vs a sleeping bag, I’d rent one from REI and try it out first, just to see if you like the layout in general.
I think most snake bites are below the knee. Honestly, I’d worry more about fit and comfort. Having some armor is better than none if you’re walking through rattler habitat.

Yeah, I glanced at the coldfront hoody there. Looks decent. It has synthetic in the cuffs and shoulders for water resistance, but that makes it a bit heavier. Probably a great option for $100 or less with coupon codes!
The solar is gimmicky and unnecessary. The watch will be under your sleeve most of the time, and the sapphire version can go a full month without charging already. I’d suggest getting the sapphire.
