    What's your do-it-all 5 or 6wt fly rod?

    I'd go for a 5 weight as an all-around rod. While a 6 can be nice for streamers and in windy conditions on bigger rivers, a 5 seems to suit most med to larger Western rivers (not counting Steelhead of course).

    +1 for flip flops or some kind of lightweight camp shoe (crocs). After a few days of pounding the mnts....its awesome to get back to camp and slip on some some camp slippers to give your feet a break...

    Backpacking with a dog?

    If its cold, I've strapped a neoprene vest to my pack for the dogs. Makes a big difference in regards to warmth at night and doesn't matter if its wet or not.

    Bivy....loops on corners to stake bivy down?

    Looking to get a bug bivy. Saw a few comments on guys having loops sewn into their bivy corners to stake it out. I'm going to be using this with a quilt and pad, under a tarp or in Cimarron. Just wondering if staking out the bivy is a better option or not. First time using one, so not sure...

    Are reasonably priced quilts a thing?

    I just received an EE downtech 10 degree Revelation quilt that I ordered. Got here a lot faster then originally quoted. Really didn't want to spend $300, but its well made and I'm hoping to get a lot of use out of it. Looking forward to trying it out....but thats not happening anytime soon...
