I get it for sure. Unlike honey holes, the folks crowding all the ski towns are not guys like us though. Not from what Ive seen anyway. They don't load their own rounds and put on a backpack and go live in a wilderness area for a week+ without coming back to the trailhead. I didn't ask this...
Yep, I lived in 2 different Colorado ski towns back before many of these posters were even born. One within a 90 min drive of Denver, and another one to the SW that was a real gem. I still go back to them occasionally to see my friends and bowhunt in the nearby units, but can't see myself living...
LOL. Don't be so dramatic. A list of all ski resorts in the US is easily found....I was just asking for which ones would be recommended. Show me where a list of "specific places" to kill a big bull can be so easily found.....and please send in a PM ;)

Late 90s when I saw my favorite Colorado town getting crowded is when I thought Whitefish might be the next place to look.
Yeah, small hills are good too. Just something with 3-5 lifts to keep my wife happy. I'll prob look at buying some land within 45 min of there
Over the last 30 years, all the ski towns I am familiar with out West have been overrun by 2nd homes of the rich and liberal, and no longer hold the quaint charm they once did. Looking to put roots down and maybe buy some land near a place that hasnt been ruined yet. I used to think Whitefish...
OK, well then I apologize. Thank you for explaining. That stinks for your brother. He might look into some of the newfoundland moose hunt threads. Some pretty high success operations that focus on moose.
I think you misrepresented the situation here. Only after a few comments in this thread do you actually admit that you booked a Goat hunt, and that you got your goat. Then you go on to say that after getting your goat the hunt shifted to a moose hunt. I see on their website that additional...
Not sure who you went with, but I’m familiar with many top shelf outfitters in NWT, Yukon, and BC who offer moose hunts. With any of them, if you show up mentally and physically prepared (including ability to shoot), you will get a chance to harvest a close to 60 inch bull, if not better. Only...
Went on a $60K hunt this year. Asked outfitter before getting there, he said 10-20% is customary. I brought $9K which comes out to 15%. After hunt was over and it was time to leave tips, I asked the outfitter, "how much is a good tip for the ladies at base camp?". $600. Ok. Now the rest ($8,400)...
Lots of ignorance there. Plenty of folks work their tails off all year long and due to work and family commitments, as well as where they live, only get to hunt a couple weeks a year. Being on a forum or buying a new piece of gear, or souping their truck up, keeps them connected to that thing...
