No, not everything will. Type at whatever speed you prefer.
I pick the 223 because I shoot it better, as do the vast majority of shooters ( actually everyone does shoot a lesser recoiling rifle better. That has been tested and proven).
No one has claimed the number of times in a row one can...
Stripping down the bolt. I made the twist but the shroud doesn't want to slide off.
It wiggles around but seems hung up on something.
Cant twist it back either, think it needs to be "cocked" to twist it back.
Maybe I can just manually push back the slide/firing pin assembly ?
Not breaking out...
You stated shooting the 223 enough would eventually become obnoxious, implying due to recoil.
I'm not recoil sensitive. I don't need to shoot a 223 because of recoil sensitivity.
I don't need to shoot a 223. <that's a period.
I've shot over a couple thousand rounds through it in the past year (...
Might I suggest TRT?
Just kidding!! I couldn't help it. Well, I could but that's not how I roll. ;)
I'm a self-certified born again 223/77TMK Fanboi, no excuses made.
320 yards. One shot. Kept in scope because there were another hundred elk
in the bunch and their escape route was across...
Not trying to talk you out of the 22 Creed ; more guns is always better, can I gat an AMEN! brothers ? :)
Just saying I don't believe anyone is under-gunned with the 223/77TMK for elk further than that.
1 1/2" group at 100 = 9" at 600. Prone, steady, no wind. That'll fit in the vitals of a...
I think the whole point of the thread, and the evidence backs it up, is that not only can this combo kill with good shots but that most hunters probably should use the 223/77 TMK over other/larger calibers for North American big game animals. Ive about 60 years hunting experience and shooting...
I've settled on this ( for now)
2 cups of powdered elk ( sinews sifted out)
1 cup powdered freeze dried blueberries
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup honey
1 cup tallow
Making a bunch for my 1 year old grandson. Should be like rocket fuel for him.
I like Adam's method of smoking first. That...
I dont see how the diameter of the bullet alone makes a frog's hair difference in killing effectiveness;
whether that hole going in is .308 or .223 or .17. Now I'm not talking about BC, wind drift, etc.
Just the hole. I'm pretty sure if I could stab an elk with a 2" diameter spear and puncture...
It's too bad they shut down the canners (not sure if they're still outlawed). Ive seen people keeping horses
way longer than they should and would ship them if they could get a few hundred bucks instead.
One guy told me "It was 25 below that morning and I went out to check on the old boy ...
That's not a character flaw. Trust but verify.
I didn't have all my stuff already. But it was worth it!
Edit* BTW, tell your friends this winter I'll have a very nice Browning A Bolt, stainless/synthetic, 300 win mag, 26" with
Leupold scope for sale; it's the perfect elk rifle!
I think I've heard
"I shoot a big caliber as well as a small caliber because recoil doesn't bother me..."
"I don't need to see my hit or make follow up shots because even if shot placement isn't perfect the big
cal gives more room for error. It only takes one..."
But I don't think I've heard...
