Compound interest is the 8th wonder of the world, he who understands it earns it, he who doesn’t pays it! Albert Einstein This quote was pounded into my head by both my grandfather and dad. Boy did it work retired very young!
I used a live trap with peanut butter, Pack rats are smart. Best was to lock the trap open for a night or two until they get used to going in, then set the trap. Works for me every time for the last 30 years. Then dispose as needed.
Got over a 100 nights in my 10x14 in the interior of Alaska in some pretty crappy weather, always warm and dry. Added wood stove, setup 10 minutes with 2 guys. Love it!
We had the Mammoth return discussion at moose camp here in Alaska last fall. My Athabaskan hunting buddies were all for it. Interior of Alaska has the room and very few people.
Bought a stove Jack with flap and liquid cloth mender from Amazon no sowing it is on a Kodak flex bow tent. I have about a 100 nights in it over 5 years, both moose hunts and bear hunts in the interior of Alaska. Not one problem.

I have been using a 10' x14' Kodiak in the interior of Alaska for the last 3 years, 75 nights or so. Compared to our old wall tent the Kodiak is a dream, fast set up, sturdy, and very warm with the added Kni-Co Alaskan stove.
We hunt with a river boat so weight is not an issue.
