The heat has sucked, but the cool mornings really have the elk active!

    First Time Elk Hunters

Leaving Monday to New Mexico for my first out of state and first elk hunt. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for as long as I’ve been into hunting, 25 years at least. Spent most of my 20s in school and figured I’d go in my 30s. My 30s rolled around and kids came along pushing things out. Prices...

    Last prep BHs flying well?

Running the trifecta this year as my #1 and sevr 1.75 as my #2. Both shoot great without issue. Hopping to run a trifecta through an elk in a couple of weeks!

    Sig Zulu 6

I don’t have any mavens but I’ve got some vortex talons. Not near the same league of glass though. I’ve looked through both razor HD and UHD and from what I remember I would say they’re on par with the HD and slightly below that of the UHD. I’d honestly have to look through these other two side...

    Sig Zulu 6

Just picked up the sig Zulu 6 in 12x42. The image stabilization makes a huge difference! You don’t realize how much small movements make when viewing unsupported until you’ve tried IS binocs. I’ll do some additional testing over the next few days/weeks but so far so good. Anyone else try the Zulu 6?

Too many choices, help me choose a daypack

Just came back from doing 2 miles with 50lbs, the most weight I’ve tried yet. WAY more comfortable than the metcalf I tried adjusting for the past few months.

Thanks for all the opinions. Ended up going with the eco K4 2200! Like it so far, but only have about 3 miles on it

Too many choices, help me choose a daypack

Appreciate the response! Money is always a factor … I could easily put the extra cash towards a new bow and use my current as a backup. With that being said, I see so many talking about frame and fit it makes me wonder what others are like. Just came back from my 3mi hike with 35lb pack weight...

Actually been thinking about that option. Hiking with the pack now as part of my weekly workout.

Too many choices, help me choose a daypack

The pack is from 2018, I don’t think it’s the guide lite frame. It also looks like the mule is discontinued.

Too many choices, help me choose a daypack

I’m going on an elk hunt in New Mexico this September. For this hunt I really need a daypack with a meat shelf, the metcalf I have is more than overkill. I’ve been looking at the initial ascent day pack setup. Frame looks good and the pack looks just big enough. This is probably the favorite...
