Turnkey cost poll for successful DIY elk hunters - All about the Benjamin's?

I use pretty cheap gear and a lot of it I had from years of accumulating camping gear. What gets expensive for me is closing my office for a week or 2. I wouldn't trade that time though. The office is there and will be there when I get back. Time spent with my Dad chasing elk up in the...

    NM Auodad Upcoming

Well the hunt was fun but I ate the tag. Had I hunted longer then my odds would have improved but I had an elk hunt that overlapped. I hunted 4 days then headed up to the Gila. All in all I can say I'll definitely hunt these bad boys again. I'll probably try to go horseback though there is just...

What to do with Elk Hide?

I brain tanned mine and hung it in the garage. My wife didn't want it in the house either! Not super pretty but I'm sure proud of it. I have a lot of respect for the Indians back in the day working those hides with stone tools or their teeth!

16D Gila Rifle Tag for Disabled Veteran

I was in 16 a few weeks ago for an antelope hunt with my dad. Very soggy. They have had a 130 year rainfall this summer and it's still raining. All the tanks, springs and creeks should have plenty of water. The Gila looks like Ireland right now no exaggeration. Not sure how the roads will be in...
