    Why is the .270 Winchester so under loaded?

    My question would be, "What's the point?" A 150 gr. at 2800 fps from a .270 Winchester allows for inexpensive spitzer cup-n-core bullets to take even large game at 400 yards. GR

    6.5 PRC Regrets

    Academically, it would be a good cartridge for a new, one rifle shooter that intends to hunt medium to large game and reload. But, in the practical, inexpensive factory ammo for adequate training goes a long way toward success in the field, and handloading down the road provides good economy...

    Might want to look at the 130 gr. TSX. Works very well in the 6.5x55mm Mauser at ~ 2800 fps. GR

    6.5 PRC Regrets

    Between the 6.5x55mm Mauser and the .270 Winchester, out to 400 yards, it brings little to the table. And the above cartridges are loaded by PPU and are inexpensive training ammo, providing quality once-fired brass for hunting reloads. GR
