    Elk Hunting Nutrition

I know it's heavy in relation to backpacking specific foods, but on a few backpack trips this summer, I vacuum sealed raw bacon cut it half, and got a little egg carrier thing, and found out that Idahoan makes dehydrated hash browns, and started cooking fresh meals, the bacon kept well over the...

    CA B-Zone Archery

I agree with CookeMonster there's more acreage than you could possibly cover of public or open to public timber company land to hunt, even with some of the frustrations I have faced (lots of hunters, backpackers, etc) I don't think I would put in the effort to find private access unless I...

    Kifaru accessories

I ordered a four set of Pullouts a couple weeks ago, and it took exactly a week from ordering until they were at my house.

Kenetrek Mountain Extreme Non-insulated at MidwayUSA

I ordered 11's 298 also. Still saved a ton, so I can't complain. Thanks for the heads up about the sale!

What's your broadhead choice for 2013?

Slick trick standards for me. First year fixed blade and they fly great so far.

    ever feel a little guilty?

I'm coming into my third season of hunting in deep, and am the first to admit that I'm new and have a lot to learn and I also would say that I have learned a ton from this site, but I don't think new people trying backcountry hunting because of sites like this is all that bad, at the end of the...

    USFWS Proposal for Sierra Nevadas

^^ What he said! Ca has some great terrain but loves to listen to retards in suits with money and ban/restrict access to that country with no science whatsoever. Dollar signs rule here and environmentalist groups put up the most money here.

    Rokslide Members Definition of DIY

I feel, and have always felt that when no guides are involved, and you're out in the back country, it's DIY. Regardless of if you even have a packer come help you get the meat out, that could be a friend who owns a horse or whatever, people go on DIY moose hunts, but I doubt many people pack out...

    7.5 mile spinner fishing

Nice fishin! Is it getting hot up there yet? Redding has been ridiculous the last few days. Haha.

    Low budget?

Those prices both sound really reasonable, the Nomad is a killer deal though, especially with the tripod included. Is there anything negative about that tripod that makes him want to sell it? Also, I would definitely like to see pictures of both spotters and the tripod, I'm interested for sure...

    Low budget?

Okay, so it sounds like my thoughts are confirmed, I had a feeling the nomad was the best option. The md and nomad both look good. Jquarnberg, how much are you wanting form them? The only dealers that have nomads in stock are on clearance, so I'm afraid by payday in a few weeks when I can afford...

    Low budget?

To start this off, I know I'm in the land of elite top of the line optics guys here, but the cost of glass that good is just too much for me right now, I also do completely understand that by going with low end I will be sacrificing clarity and light transmission and a lot of other things, but...

    anyone addicted to energy drinks?

Yeah the headaches are brutal, I've quit before they got better eventually though. I'm not quitting coffee so I should at least be able to manage the headaches with it.

    anyone addicted to energy drinks?

I'm absolutely addicted, I'm guaranteed to have at least one a day, usually two, and lately I've been having three a few times a week. And damn, people say chew and cigs are expensive, ten bucks a day on energy drinks is brutal. I'm halfway through a giant red bull as I type this. I'm quitting...

    Spyder turbo driving tacks...

Thanks guys! Yeah, I generally shoot different spots under 35-40 depending on the conditions, but I was adjusting my sight today, and I moved my peep and whatnot, so I was checking everything and ended up costing myself some money. Love this bow though!

    Spyder turbo driving tacks...

This is how you ruin one arrow forever, and ruin another temporarily in one group at 30 yards. Love this bow! Sorry guys, had to show off. Haha.

Draw applications opened up today, I believe they stay open until June first or second. Just thought I would put it up in case anybody wants an early start.

    Bummed.

Is that line not very supportive? The running store seems legit though, their website is really informative and it seems like they put a lot of effort into finding everyone the correct shoes, not just slinging the most expensive at everyone and rushing through as many customers as possible.
