Anyone have any real info on this frog protection thing going on? I've heard everything from little impact to full closure of the forest including hiking and camping above 4500'. The info from USFWS seems broad and appears to leave the restrictions wide open. There's lots of speculation, but does any one have some facts?

Fact: California has a very liberal government that caters to all the needs and demands of all extreme environmentalist. Science is seldom considered.

^^ What he said! Ca has some great terrain but loves to listen to retards in suits with money and ban/restrict access to that country with no science whatsoever. Dollar signs rule here and environmentalist groups put up the most money here.

I don't know anything about the frogs, but I'm not surprised. If they closed areas of the Sierras off to hikers it would piss some people off. Unfortunately they would be too clueless to ask why. We have one of the healthiest populations on mountain lions but we are not allowed to hunt them. Key players on the CAFW Commission are members in Mt Lion Foundation. California is the land of fruits and nuts.
