Redsnake Tactical has a LA AICS conversion that allows 3.500" COAL. I'd recommend putting a dial caliper on the long action magnum tikka magazine if you want something flush fitting.
Both are options.
I bought the Maven CS.1 last month when Sportsmans Warehouse had $100 off sale on Leupold SX-4 line. I then decided I wanted to augment my optics collection and buy a midrange, light(er) spotter. I do recall the image quality of Leupy... I tested outside on a flat light day in Alaska. I went...
I have Vortex Razor glass. Not the best but gets the job done.
I’m in this thread to follow too. I’m very interested in the CS.1 as the range is perfect - including the weight. The Maven video a few weeks back said Polymer frame but the website says Magnesium/Aluminum. I’m still waiting for a...
I really like the CTR mags. I wished I bought the CTR Bravo. My early adoption of Tikka Bravo limited me to standard AI

Blaw tune the standard metal mags. Or buy the WSM AI mags. These are your options.
Find your lands - compare you COAL to published magazine length for whatever mag you get. Every rifle is different - including distance to your lands.

I own a KRG Bravo on a 6.5CM CTR. Lots of space to load long. You can bend metal mag lips or buy the short mag AI magazines

MEC marksmen is a solid press for the money. Super for resizing with your LE Wilson dies. I bought a forster co-ax years ago. If shopping today I'd chose MEC or RCBS summit. Grab a run out gauge while you're at it. I use the sinclair with a starrett dial caliper. Cruise over to In Line...
Being an Alaskan hunter I know about cold. I've used my 15 degree bag in cold conditions. Bag liner, bivy, tent and sleeping with a jacket works wonders. Sometimes the only time I use my puffy jacket is to bed.
JakesSCH - I also avoid Tikka for any long action caliber. Tikka is prohibitive for magazine feeding due to SAAMI COAL. I believe Tikka can excel with medium length calibers using long action bolt stop and long action magazines. 6.5x284, 6.5 prc, 6.5x55 improved... you get the picture.
Lonewolf. I'm embarrased with the amount of Tikka's I own. If tikka makes a PRC, I hope they release it with modern twist rates. Every tikka is GTG out of the box. 1:11" for 30 cal stuff. Come on... If Tikka/Sako did 1:7.5 for the 6.5prc, i'd be all over it.
How do you like your CA? It was a tough choice between the ridgeline, mesa and havak. I get excited for new new - hence why I bought the Havak.
I am still hopeful to find ADG brass. I've expressed the popularity of the short fat case to even Peterson. To date, I'm still pushing them out...
Advantage of lower velocity is recoil is like a 243. I can probably work up again to find next velocity node. 140gr @ 3000 is a potent pill.
These havaks have rock creek barrels. I wish they had the 1:7.5” twist for the 156ers. When my barrel gets tired I’ll probably do another 300short.
I have the very same rifle. I am getting 1/2” 5 shot groups. I’m happy because i will use it for hunting. My velocity is slower than I expected, but that’s where my rifle likes it. I’m positive I will group better when better brass is on the market. The Atlas Development Group stuff has been...
Sleeping is something I wouldn’t be too frugal. I would buy the very best bag you can afford. When budget allows you can buy a merino liner to add another 5-8f in the rating and you can eventually put it all in a bivy and add another 5f.

I have an older Pelican double rifle case that’s seen good use. Sturdy construction and I preferred the latches over the Boyt/Cabelas brand.
Airlines post rules on transporting firearms. Firearms and ammunition travel separate. The firearm case shouldn’t be able to be pried open. Use non TSA...
Similar to other posts, get a good stiff boot with full rand. Make sure they are tried prior to departing.
I’ve really grown to appreciate Havalon knives. Also sort of common sense, but keep your spare batteries near your body for warmth.

I use the Cabelas XL cot in base camp. I have probably 40+ nights of sleep on it over the past couple years. I’ve had great sleep on this cot and it’s holding up well. 5’11” 185lbs athletic build.
I bought it when Cabelas was actually Cabelas. I cannot speak to the current as I’ve heard mixed...
