    OnX vs GoHunt?

Historically used exclusively onX and still do but added gohunt to my arsenal. Both have great features and it's probably the cheapest thing I buy for hunting in a year... Try them both and see what works best for you. I will say the elevation and slope tools are great on both, and the beta...

    Mechanical broadhead for elk

Sorry for my bad description, I more meant if you think you may hit ribs. I've seen pictures of mechanicals with blades pretty much sheered of going between ribs. My main annoyance with mechanicals is with my experience using rages with the new shock collar vs old o-ring. I feel like every...

    Mechanical broadhead for elk

It's shot selection for different reasons. Fixed you may be worried about wind and distance, but a mechanical you're more worried more about animal positioning and how your arrow may interact with bones and organs. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

    Mechanical broadhead for elk

I used to use Rage, but got tired of them opening up in my quiver. I ended up switching to a Steel Force Phat Head and love them. Very beefy blades that punch through obstacles. Think it's more of a personal preference and what you're comfortable with.

    COLORADO ARCHERY OTC: Hunters needed

You aren't wrong there. And to the guy that mentioned in reach and the like. I do have the in reach explorer I think, but if things go south it's definitely good to have someone else there to held handle a possible severe first aid situation. Is definitely just a peace of mind thing when the...

    Saddle / Lock On pack?

The main reason I llike the 2200 is because you can access the main pocket from the front of the pack (part against your back) if you have stuff tied everywhere on the back you can get in without much hassle. It also has built in straps that work really well at securing your layers, bow, or any...

Ropeman 1 vs Prusik knot for linesman’s belt

A lineman belt is fall protection, not fall arrest I believe. You are never really meant to take a fall with a lineman belt, it's meant to prevent you from falling in the first place. Static lines in general are not meant to take a fall. A 3' fall from a static line is going to hurt versus a...

    COLORADO ARCHERY OTC: Hunters needed

I knew I'd catch flak, but didn't really care. Gotta somewhat respect what the other half wishes or I'd be divorced paying child support... Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

    COLORADO ARCHERY OTC: Hunters needed

Figured I'd get a response along those lines. When you have an infant at home and the Rockies aren't your stomping ground, there is definitely a safety factor in having a hunting partner. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

    COLORADO ARCHERY OTC: Hunters needed

I was just about to post something similar, but I'm not a CO resident. Went out west a couple years ago for a DIY elk hunt with a buddy. Buddy doesn't want to go again and the wife refuses to let me go solo. If you're still looking for someone to team up with please let me know, as I'd like to...
