    New Hornady products 2025

Yawn for the most part. I did find it odd that two of the products featured are “knock offs” of other products. Curious to see how that works out for them.

    NEW 338ARC, what say ye?

The biggest thing it has going for it is that it is just an upper swap on an AR15 platform but runs off the Grendel mag for better reliability. People that hunt that platform and sub 300yards (Hornadys range not mine) may find it attractive in a short platform and suppressed.

    NEW 338ARC, what say ye?

Started as a DOD solicitation but curious why they think this niche thing will catch fire.

6mm /.243 hunting success on Big Game

1800 generally but some people use 2000. I have seen posts with lower than 1800 impact velocities and still acceptable performance but I believe 1800 is where you want to be.

    Kelbly actions

I know defiance won’t last I checked but it wasn’t them that I read wanted people to send their action in. I own two of their actions and will probably sell one and upgrade to an impact nbk. Bat seems to have had their stuff together for a while now but oddly you just don’t see a lot of guys...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Looks like you got a double (fragment) exit? Good to see. I’ll be testing some 69s out of a 9twist 223 Remington in a week or two.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Yeah you got better range than I do down south. 400 is about the absolute max for me best case scenario with a 223 and 77tmk

Students report person with gun at high school

Some of you may be surprised how much more these types of things are being reported and handled, without the coverage. Seems IMO kids, especially in public schools, have very little tolerance for the ones who threaten/do these kinds of things. They want to feel safe at school, as they should...

    Kelbly actions

I think I read some where at least one of the action companies listed wanted you to send in your action so they could headspace etc so they would not just send you a bolt. Can’t remember which one so may check that for those interested.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

To be fair you were on the edge of the velocity limit for expansion possibly but clearly still within its capabilities. Nice work and congrats on the meat!

Tikka Roughtech or Bergara Carbon Wilderness

Bergara is a lesser rifle IMO. The QC seems to be hit or miss and more times than not a miss. If you do some digging on the web you find first hand stories of these issues. Plus Tikka takes prefits and bergara does not. Tikka is a better option all the way around.

What did you do in the reloading room today?

I have not seen some cast bullets like that since I inherited all my reloading stuff. Good stuff man

6mm /.243 hunting success on Big Game

The most ideal coyote bullet IMO. It is a flat out hammer and works great on the piggies as well
