We ended up going with Gordo Banks out of San Jose in Mid March. the Marina in San Jose is a lot smaller and less hectic than the one in Cabo. If you are closer to that one definitely go there instead of traveling to cabo. Overall we had an awesome time and would definitely recommend going with...
Lot of different opinions shared here but overall I think the general consensus is that these new trucks just aren't worth the price tag dealerships are asking for them. Did some shopping around in my area and I am realistically looking at $30K for a 6-10 year old truck with under 100K miles. A...
Don't overthink it. You will likely have plenty of opportunities and a good amount of bucks of too look over. Some of these comments make you think you need to be a navy seal to stalk antelope which is typically not the case especially for a Utah tag.
An experienced western hunter like...
My current rig is nearing 300k miles and I will likely be in the market for a new truck in the near future. Truck prices are outrageous right now and I can't rap my mind around paying $30-40k for a 5-10 yr old truck with 60-100k miles.
I'm seeing 20 yr old trucks with 100k miles for $10-15k and...
really depends on what you want to do. If your only wanting to decipher big and small then 20X binos should be fine. If you want to guestimate tine length at long distance then a high quality spotter might be necessary.
Well a month later I finally had a weekend to get back into bear country. Hunted 3 days battling wind, rain and thunderstorms the first 2 days.
Saw half a dozen bears throughout the weekend and finally located one in a good spot on the second evening. After spending the entire last day trying...
A little late but I hunted the weekend of april 27 and saw a total of 3 bears. Had a shot opportunity on a medium color phase at 500 but opted to get closer. In the process I managed to roll a rock and he spooked. My fault, I was confident I knew where he was bedded and should have positioned...
I have been considering bringing my own gear as well. People I am going with like to sit by the pool all day which is not my thing. Is it true you don't need a liscense when fishing from shore? Any places to possibly rent fishing gear for a day or two?
I would be happy with any decent buck which seems to be a realistic expectation for only 2 points.
Lots of different perspectives mentioned here which I appreciate
Hunt would be with a rifle. No preference on season however with only two points I'm probably looking at Oct/Nov for coues and Oct. For Colorado.
Mostly just interested in hearing which of these options would the best quality hunt given my current point status.
What would you do? An Arizona Coues deer hunt for 2 points, a Colorado Mule deer hunt for 2 points or a Montana General deer tag? Part of me thinks I need to wait a couple more years for a worth while tag in CO or AZ but I also have the schedule to make a trip work this year. Also considering a...
Bumping this Thread as we are heading to Cabo in March. Went for a half day January of 21 kind of on a whim without really researching different charters or anything. We caught one dorado and 2 smaller marlin I think (about 6 ft). Not really sure if that is a good day or not.
We are going back...
