For sale is a nice Meopta Meostar R1 1-4x22 RD with K-Dot illuminated reticle. Really great glass. I had it mounted and never shot the gun I put it on and ended up selling the gun, so moving this on as well. It has a couple of scratches shown in pictures. Comes with box and paperwork. $460 TYD.
It would be terrible to only have one rimfire. I’d have to go with the CZ 457. All steel, super adjustable trigger and you can dry fire without messing up the firing on. Plus they shoot well. My current setup is a Scout with an American stock. I like the 16” barrel.
is taht the factory pin in the top pic? Did you just tap it in? I need the pin in the rear hole for the opposite reason...I need the front ring farther back.
I've messed with a lot of different scopes for coyotes. I used to run higher magnifications, but have shifted down to 2-10 or 3-9 now. I have a SWFA 6x on my .223 now that has worked pretty well. Fast movers in brush can be a challenge, but I should be packing a shotgun in those places anyway.
The human eye can’t tell the difference in light transmission between a 50mm and 42mm objective. Quality of glass, polishing and coatings are what determine light transmission. Lens coatings are not equal either…in quality or quantity. Companies boast multi-coated lenses, but of the 9 lenses in...
I’ve never entered any of mine. I know they like to look at the data and see where big animals come from, but I just don’t ever feel the need to do it. I don’t think there is anything wrong with it.
I’m a Millennial and don’t have any social media either, so not really in the norm.
.223 is hard to beat for me. In the Midwest most shots are under 200yds…many much closer. I’ve tried a bunch of different bullets, but current favorite is the Speer Gold Dots 62gr or 75gr. Usually not a lot of pelt damage, but it will make an exit hole.
I actually think this isn’t really a new thing. When the .250 Savage came out it was used for everything up to moose and raved about.
The hunting space has become an industry since then…manufacturers make new stuff every year and incentivize writers and influencers to talk about how great it...
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who can't get used to the CTR stock. I'll likely be pulling my CTR stock off and putting a Lite or compact stock on my .223. Had considered just getting a Stainless Lite .223, but can't quite get myself to offload the .223 CTR yet.
