Haven't used it yet, but doesn't seem any better or worse than any other roto cooler. One thing it doesn't have is dedicated tie down slots, suppose you could use the handles to run a tie down through. But the price and being usa made I figured I'd give it a shot.
Is Kimber the only 6lb, crf , 3 position safety that is chambered in 06?
Also for folks that have new ones how do you like them? Thinking of possibly picking up a Montana.
Can't go wrong with either one. I love my Montbell and have never tried Rab. Any down jacket with 7+ ozs fill weight of 800+ fill will do. One difference with Rab and Montbell is Rab has treated down if that matters to you (winter steelheading). When its cold enough for these type of coats...
I picked up a Montbell alpine last year for sitting, glassing, ice fishing. Its 16oz, 7.1 oz of 800 fill, box baffles and packs down pretty small. Also only $300, made in Vietnam. I wear it over the top of everything once I get to where I'm going and I stay really warm, didn't get cold once...
Cotton Carrier has a arca swiss type bottom mount that will attach to a tripod and has room on the side for their "carry" system. Both are off set, but it's the best compromise I've found yet. Not sure how it works yet, waiting for it to get here. The like is for the bottom mount only. They...
Haven't had a chance to use yet, but I just picked up a 6" Northern Arm filet knife in Magnacut. They also have a 9" in S35V. It has quite a bit more flex then the Vix. Hoping the new steel will get though the butchering process without switching up knives or stopping to sharpen. I envision...
How are you liking your speedgoat, and the Magnacut? I am wanting that knife for probably the same reasons. I hope that they do the super cub in magnacut at some point.
When I use decoys, I've been using Montana fold up hens and jake. Have used the 2d ones and picked up two 3d hens last year. For run and gun they work great pack up small and don't weigh a ton. This year I am going to try some home made gobbler fans (like meateater) we'll see how that goes.
