Christensen Mesa FFT off to a bad start.

Well, after having my rifle a month, CA responded and said it was “carbon buildup” and that they “polished the chamber” and were going to send it back. I called BS since I had the rifle less than 24 hours and not much more than a box of ammo through it including cleaning. They agreed to give it...

I’d pick the 6.5prc any day for that hunt!

AR 15 6.5 Grendel for Youngins

I have one that is built off of and aero m4e1 platform with a faxon pencil barrel… weighs 7.5# with a Trijicon Ascent 3-12. At least a dozen kills between 6 or 7 kids… I don’t think you can go wrong with a 6.5g AR

RMNP is awesome but I am a SW Colorado fan too. Fly into ABQ, stay in the Ouray, Telluride area, ride the train between Durango and Silverton… go to the hot springs in Pagosa Springs etc

    Savage 110 ultralight (proof barrel)

superlights have been $899 at Cabelas … mine, as mentioned was a grand, I get that tikka is smoother and don’t dispute that… but there is just not an appreciable price difference

    Savage 110 ultralight (proof barrel)

I hear the Tikka love and have owned and recommended them. BUT, they are still not “much less money” … even if you do like them 100x better… even a base model, once threaded, is gonna be in the same ballpark.

    Savage 110 ultralight (proof barrel)

This is the part that puzzles me... I paid $1k for mine but they have ranged as low as $900 from Cabelas. A VG2 is about $400 on sale so all in is 1,300-1,400 if you shop. I am not sure what is "better for less money" out there in the land of 7 pound rifles. I'd love to know if there are.

    Savage 110 ultralight (proof barrel)

I’d definitely still stick with mine! Bought it planning to put it in a stockys vg2 so never even fired a shot in the original stock. Mine is an absolute tack driver in 6.5prc and I have a buddy with one in 7prc that is as well. Only other changes I made was a lumley ti bolt handle and shroud.

SIRUI Carbon Fiber Tripod... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BKG8YFVX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share This one doesn’t get any notice here on RS but it’s one of the lighter options and quite solid. The head is trashable but the tripod is only $110 with the discount so easy to add a head of your choice. 23oz

Upland vest for the rest of small game?

I use my orvis vest but squirrels get skinned and thrown in a ziplock as soon as they hit the ground 👍 100x easier to skin em when they are fresh!!
