Looking to go just a LITTLE bit lighter weight on my hunting platform. Manners T5A with (IMO) a great example of rattle can camo.
Manners Mini Chassis (means it's a true drop in for anything with a 700 ShortAction Footprint) No bedding necessary....and their adjustable butt system.
Has a...
I have used them all, original open nose, new close nosed and I have 1500 of the new nose ringed...but I havent tested any of those on game yet.
I really didn't notice much difference with the open or close nose.
With 105s and a 19" barrel, I was a comfortable 3300fps.
Lapua Brass, GM210 primer, and RL26.
When I switched to 115s, I reduced the charge to keep it around 3150 to stay legal for shooting matches.
When this barrel is toast, I will likely rebarrel to 25x284 now that there's a good option...
Good call, At that time I believe I was using hybrids. I switched shortly after for shooting matches to 115 Dtacs for higher bc and less powder to burn and never looked back. I have a decent one on the wall I took a few years later with 115s out of a Creed
This has been my biggest deer to date, body and rack. Approaching 300lbs on the hoof and a 7x9 that grossed 204".
485yds with a 6x284 with a 115 Dtac.
I've been more than happy with using a .243/6mm variant although some are a little better than others. I have a Dasher that's fine for a...
It's got different glass and will eventually be getting the barreled action some fresh cerakote...but it's an 18" 22 Creed and it's easily one of my most accurate rifles.
I'm heading out for Pronghorn in SD for the first time in about 8-10 years. It's easily my favorite big game meat but the family unit here in SD doesn't support a lot of antelope, and the ones that actually turn up...don't usually show up till the antelope season is long past.
This season it's...
So you're referring to drawing a "Special Antelope" tag. Are you an SD Resident? Best thing to do is if you're familiar with the area you used to hunt...is see if you can call any of the neighbors and explain your situation.
Lots of land owners feel the antelope are nuisance critters and will...
obviously depending on the location and the supply of game matters.
I like to get out first weekend and get done...but the unit I hunt doesn't really have a lot of big numbers.
Maybe 8-10 herds of a dozen over the whole unit. MAYBE find a herd of 25 but that's pretty rare.
If there were more...
Spur of the moment I decided to put in for West River Special Buck this year. Drew, which is good...because I actually forgot about West River deadline.
So this year, I'll be chasing west river white tail, but I'll have a more flexibility in where I'm hunting.
(On the upside...last year there...
