Why the heck can't we make sure solar is on the roof of every commercial building and warehouse in the major cities of these sunny areas before we plow under more Public Land?
Would this significantly cut into sheep tag allocations? Or would this be additional tags added?
I admittedly have not read the proposal just going off what is posted here.
100% some influencers will get tags....it's clockwork. Just like it seems to be clockwork that someone Grey Thornton is buddies with draws a tag at the Less than 1 Club Drawings.....
I don't want to drag this thread too far into the mud, but it won't take long to find lots of stuff on Google.
The quick and dirty is that SFW's accounting of where the money goes from all the tags is VERY suspect. Best case scenario seems to be that 30% goes back to conservation and the other...
That is a valid concern for sure, slippery slope like all things game management related.
I'm curious how many one horned rams have been harvested in the previous say 10-20 years. Like someone pointed out, maybe this would be giving the old timers a chance to shoot a ram that nobody else is...
I could just as easily say to you, "sorry you don't qualify for these tags, life isn't fair get used to it"
I'm not 100% on board with this but I can't really see a reason to be adamantly against it either.
The previous post pointing out that it would be less than 1% of the Sheep in the whole...
Yep, sometimes it feels like a lot of people think they should just do their job for free or the budgets they operate on come from fairy dust and angel farts.
I'd love for some of the "revenue haters" to take a deep dive into the budgets and salaries in some Game and Fish departments and tell...
This is pretty much my thoughts as well.
I love a good adventure as much as the next guy and have been lucky enough to be on some pretty epic ones but..... once the dust settles my family can't eat adventure, I'm looking to fill tags too.
That's kinda my stance.
Shouldn't we have the roof of every commercial building and warehouse in the Treasure Valley covered in solar before we start plowing under Public Land?
I'm sure other places like Mtn. Home, Twin Falls etc. etc. have enough sunshine and huge buildings to make it worth...
I just randomly saw a photo on FB of someone with a Yeti Cast Iron that had a broken handle. He was getting absolutely roasted in the comments, made me think of this thread.
One of the people said "Did you let one of your poor friends touch it?" :ROFLMAO:
Scroll to the bottom and look at some of the costs of these projects. I'm gonna have to assume a bunch of that comes from money from the Auction and Raffle tags as the low number of sheep tags sold in Idaho each year is not going to cover even one of those projects...
The money generated from those sales goes back to keeping Sheep alive so the average hunter still has a chance to hunt them.
Each state throwing their 1 Governors tag that they auction back into the pool of tags isn't going to do shit to help the average hunter go sheep hunting in reality.
I too ran into a dead end following the Online link.
So I just reached out to IWF to make sure they were aware and had someone attending the meeting. They were, not surprisingly, already on it.
Yes.
Hate it for a couple reasons.
I'm pretty much against any changes to the Muzzleloader Regs, I think they are fine how they are.
But I am ADAMANTLY against the Legislator getting involved with season setting etc. slippery slope there.
225 views on a thread that has a call to action that can actually help save some Mule Deer in Idaho.
9,000+ views on the thread bitching about the future of Mule Deer in Idaho.
Maybe some of the folks in charge of distributing those tags finally wisened up and decided to let less corrupt organizations distribute them?
Just a (hopeful) guess.
It's amazing to me that so many companies in the industry and hunters who consider themselves conservationists still support this thing.
Have they ever come clean about where all the money goes?
