    Hard case for Sig Cross

side note- whatever people say about those guns doesn't discount the fact that I think they look cool as hell. BTW I run a Nanuk case. Has worked well flying and has roller wheels because it definitely isn't light.

    new truck time

Was at the Ford Repair Department at our local dealer dealing with a company truck. Lady behind the counter said to not buy a new truck from the last two years as they are already having problems from sitting too long, messed up assembly and chip issues. We were dealing with a brand new F150...

Conceal Carry holster options while backpacking?

Hill People Gear chest rig. Get the one with attachment points on the front and put things that draw attention to them and not what may be in the bag. I wear one fishing all the time and have pliers and other fishing stuff stuck in the loops on the front. Works like a charm. Anyone who knows...

    Creepy experiences in the backcountry

Those grouse will give you a heart attack for sure.

    Creepy experiences in the backcountry

It was more of a constant noise. I’ve heard all the wierd noises foxes and other animals make at night. This noise was more like a slow up down pitch that sounded like muted screaming that never really stopped or had a break in the sound. Just ebbed and flowed which made me think it had...

    Creepy experiences in the backcountry

Was backpacking in GW National Forest in VA 2001ish. Me and my buddy had hiked in to a nice campsite right next to a beautiful trout stream, set up and were cooking dinner on the fire. after dinner we were just chilling and talking. I kept hearing what sounded like wails and screams faintly...

They work fine and are great for a budget.

    Sight Upgrade

Find a Spott Hogg used for around $200. Have to be patient but they are out there. MSRP on sights is getting crazy. Mine fell 50ft down a steep slope on my bow and no adjustment needed after the fall. Bow and sight performed ruggedly.

    Factory long range rifle suggestions

Tikka or Bergara or even a used Ruger Precision. I would say any sporter Tikka should shoot fine and can be upgraded as his needs increase. Same with the Bergara. Main thing is to direct him to something you would want to buy cheap when he decides its not for him, joking kind of.

    T3X Super lite stock/chassis recommendations?

My Superlite in a XLR Element 3.0 with empty 10rd metal mag, magpul bipod, Bushnell 6500, and a 4"Arca rail is right at ten pounds. Agree with above post about the Mesa. I thought it was my shooting technique that caused it to feel jumpy when shooting. After using the XLR, I know that was...

Index Release Command vs. Back Tension Style

I found that also. I shoot with my Stan SX3 unless dialing in a sight tape. For some reason just more steady with the Scott wrist strap. Luckily they shoot same point of aim. I still hunt with the Scott so I command style for that. If I use it too much I find I start freezing under the...

    Hornady 6.5 140gn BTHP

Its a standard hollowpoint. May blow up if you hit something solid, but more than likely will pencil through. Put it through the heart or lungs and will work. Very accurate in my 6.5 CM.

    New Rifle Build

If your concerns are 2nd Amendment based, every child needs a 6.5 AR10 :). No matter what happens you should always be able to put together a bolt gun. I would also slap the EH1 on something else and grab a lightweight chassis with Quick Adjust everything so you and him will be able to set the...

If you were starting from scratch, which daypack setup would you buy?

I use a MR Metcalf cause its what I have. It collapses down nicely and can haul anything I'm physically capable of carrying. That being said I would move towards any of the sizes of the MR Popup series. Tried one on and it felt perfect. Probably going to hurt carrying a heavy heavy load, but...

    Professional Opinions

I will say that I have purchased some things due to some influencer youtubes. Not because they are the ones pushing, but because their video about the product was super in depth and touched on questions I had. I just want to say that I owned a PSE before Dudley. Anything he sells is not what...

    Choosing a better range finder

Vortex Razor 4000 has done very well with my two trips out west. Crisp glass, lightweight. I would only change the reticle to a finer design for easier pinpointing on a target. Seems to be a little cheaper than the Euro companies.

    .243 reality check? -->Chose 6.5creed

I've shot deer with both. My 243 handloads have more recoil than factory ammo in my Tikka 6.5. Either one will be great for any recoil sensitive situations. MY 243 is on the chopping block at this point.

Chronograph velocity 175fps slower than box

Strelok Pro will solve for velocity. Thats why you need a 100yd zero and then a measured drop out at a further distance. I haven't messed with all the others, but I'm sure they all have the ability to true your data. There is alot better sources than me for how to true your ballistic app...
