    Exo Mountain K4?

I agree 100%, I have had every EXO pack released the K4 is outstanding and while there are some things I would like to see, those are for my specific needs. I too am going to pick up a second frame but for training.

Compare & Contrast Exo K4 5000 and Stone Glacier Sky 5900

EXO K4 because you can find a frame size that fits you best and the packs are better when it comes to organization, both haul weight great. I hated the old K3 hip belt and liked the SG one better but with the K4 the crew fixed the sliding issue.

All in one Best 7PRC ammo for Coues, Mule Deer, and Elk

Either the ELDm or ELDx just make sure to sight in and carry the same lot number. In my rifle I was seeing a 200fps difference depending on the lot with Hornady ammo. I think the CX is fine but I would limit the range to under 400 to keep the impact velocity as high as possible. Sent from my...

    6.5 Creedmoor Ammo Opinions

Just make sure your max range is based on the bullets impact velocity. 1800fps is what Hornady states as minimum opening but I prefer to stay in the 1900-2000fps area as a minimum to ensure bullet performance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Inreach/zoleo talk to each other

With Garmin, you have to start the message thread and send it to the Zoleo number. Then, the Zoleo user continues to use the same message thread to communicate with the Garmin user.

    Evacuation Insurance

Unfortunately that story is a bad example. In that instance they called 911 just like any other accident where cell coverage is available. SAR insurance would not cover this. You would need a separate insurance for air medical transportation if your current insurance policy did not cover the...

    Evacuation Insurance

Typically no agency charges for Search and Rescue operations. Some agencies have the ability to bill a person if certain circumstances are present but it’s not common practice. While medical transport may be a part of a SAR operation once the person is rescued it is a completely separate issue...

My gear/pack layout from base layers to binos

@Formidilosus or anyone else with experience how is the sizing on the Red Kettle Light Jacket? Their sizing seems small; an XL is only a 46" chest.

Alpaca wool is better than merino.....

I absolutely agree, I prefer synthetic base layers for their quick dry time but in a few hours they stink really bad. I can wear wool for days and get no stink. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Alpaca wool is better than merino.....

I tried the Alpaca socks and they were very comfortable but my feet would still sweat in them and they would become very smelly and the smell would not wash out. They also stretched out really fast. I have ordered some of the Yak socks to give them a test. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How full do you run your pack?

I run a EXO K4 3600 and because it’s my SAR/Hunting pack I keep it probably at 50% of capacity and that allows me to adjust my gear load based on the callout. It’s much easier to compress a big pack and make it smaller. I often rescue people who say they have some piece of gear that would have...
